Biography

Kris was born in Long Beach, California and brought up in a Jewish household. Throughout her life, her one desire has been to serve Our Father in Heaven and sing praises to Him. When she was 17 she met a group of men and women who were called to live the life of Christ on the road in faith. They traveled like the disciples 2000 years ago, with a bedroll, tote sack, and in their bare feet, dressed in white robes. They were totally dependant on God to supply their daily needs and gave their lives to helping others. Kris began a pilgrimage to know God, which took her all over the world. Through this experience came her songs of joy and a daily walk with God, which she is happy to share, fulfilling her dream to help heal the world with song.
After many years of being on the road she now lives in Hemet Ca. where she started her own business specializing in Living Trusts and Senior Care. She is devoted to giving seniors the respect and honest service they deserve. The local chamber of commerce, her church, and her acquaintances have recognized her as one of the outstanding members of the community for the constant service she does for others.
In between all this is her music ministry, which is changing people’s lives. Her first CD Alive and Well was entered into the GRAMMY® 2005 process and has received multiple honors from the music industry. She has won numerous songwriting awards because the messages in her lyrics touch so deeply in the heart. Her songs are being played on radio stations all over the world bringing hope and comfort.
Kris also leads the acappella choir Pure Righteousness. They perform at prisons, in churches, nursing homes and on radio and TV. Her love for God overflows to all those around her. She is truly an inspiration to all who know her.
Kris fits her shows to those who call on her, whether they be talks on her Retirement Consulting business, Inspirational lectures with songs or just a concert to lift the heart, she is happy to fill the need.
Kris Miller, The Senior Life Coach, has developed a seminar program for use around the country from corporations to community centers, blending her wisdom and music in an entertaining, money-saving presentation!

In the development of the term "life coach", a new frontier has opened for the fifty and over age group. Kris Miller has studied extensively the legal preparation and planning it takes to relax in the golden years. What she found in her studies, was an intense injustice of skyrocketing fees from lawyers to people trying to plan for their futures. Retirees were being charged huge fees by a legal system for minimal work. Kris Miller began an education process and became certified to advise and complete all the necessary forms and legal documents for retirees. This has been incorporated into a seminar program she shares for senior groups, cruises, corporations, or small appointed groups. Within the program, Kris Miller not only shares the simple ways a person of any age can prepare for their retirement and arrangements of wills and estates, but a joyous celebration of music. Her inspiring performance and informative seminar is a novel approach to what heretofor has been considered complicated, morbid information. Kris Miller loves sharing her knowledge with everyone and even better, saving them money! In a recent interview, Kris Miller discussed her own definition of the term, " life coach".

  Songwriting is a story one wants to tell, and sometimes we know the story, but the trick is to express our words in a way that others can relate to what we're saying. This 3 Song demo from Kris Miller tells me alot about who she is, what she believes in and how she wants to share her joy with the world. Now, to help Kris get that message to the world, or to a few friends, or her fan base...or just for Kris...here's a few thoughts.
  
  Each song is a blissful journey into Kris's faith and knowledge of her truth. Christian subject aside, Kris' words can be used for all, transformed above category and lifted through the ether of the heavens. In any case, blissful in her attitude, the songs are simple in structure, almost to the point once is hypnotized by the rhythms of solid blues, rock, soul and pop feel in the arrangements. Biblical references that may not be understood by everyone, but clearly in keeping with the raptured sense of Kris' expression.
  
  In the first Track, River (Gathered in His Name), I loved the music of upbeat bluesy lead guitar, heavy bass, steady full drums with cymbals and some touch of horns and strings but it seemed to sound the same leaving me to wonder where the chorus and verses parted ways.
  
  Track 2, "Whispers on Angel's Wings", is strong, danceable, upbeat, well structured and very appealing. Kris's voice is her own and I think this song would be a great one to promote more fully. At first I thought this another version of the 1st Track, River, as there was no lyric sheet inside, so I had to listen quite still....
  
  I love the lyrics..
  
  an accapella opening....then into a funky and full intro of distorted lead guitar, again cool guitar with bass, drums throughout. This song should be sung by choirs.

  This is "stream of consciousness" sounds.
  
  Kris's vocals are powered by love - her deep abiding faith and love in what she believes. Her expression of the "Message of the Dove" is not about order, but instead about release. Again, great guitar lead throughout with groove laden bottom end bassline and moody drums, but the music sometimes overpowers the direction of the words, but in the end, that doesn't matter. This is about flight...the message of the dove...no words...only images and simple metaphors... Flute enters with Kris Miller vocals coming in as though she is channeling what she is singing without a lyric sheet in front of her. Gentle music, we never hear the title in lyric, "message of the dove", but we hear it in our hearts....Love Love Love Love, Peace, Peace, Peace, Peace...but no verses as such here. Words are used sparingly, simply, not in any real definitive style... flowing like streams of consciousness riding the winds of the guitar's lead, sureness of the bass and steady drums with other instruments (flute/violin) for flavor - adding to the vocals with peaceful feeling of joy throughout.

  "Alive and Well" is a collection of original songs by eclectic singer/songwriter, Kris Miller, that may be catergorized as Christian Modern and New Age Gospel music, but will appeal to a broad base of fans with open hearts and minds for it's uplifting lyrics, quality musical arrangement/production (thanks Matt Forger) as well as the positive energy of spirit the creative, buoyant emotion-filled vocals of the artist express. "Alive and Well" is a testament to the new music industry artist who may fit a specific genre in style, but writes beautiful music for both believers and non-believers, no matter your affiliation or congregation. While I recommend the "Alive and Well" cd overall, my favorite track is "Whispers of Angels Wings", a song with lyrics that are universal, music that can rock and roll you with a bluesy, soulful good time feel, and Kris's unique vocals, that express fully the spirit she feels, the love of her God, and the wisdom in crossing over borders with the language of music. With beautiful cd artwork, "Alive and Well", is an album that can joyously bring together many diverse cultures, for those "with ears to hear and eyes to see", this is a major step in the right direction for debut cd.
