"I Give You Me"

Kimmy Kearse — I Give You Me
Growing up with the music of Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Dianna Ross, and other strong black women, Kimmy Kearse knew that a music career was exactly what she wanted to pursue. Gifted with a tremendous soulful voice, she did just that. Starting out by covering LaBelle at the Apollo Theatre in the late ‘80’s, she scratched and crawled her way into the studio so that she could record her own music. Her R&B trio Kimmy and Klasse have made their presence known throughout the independent R&B circuit and Kimmy’s solo effort here shows us why—it’s all about the smooth vocals.

"The Charts"

Kimmy’s voice is so powerful, she can improv with the best. She sends chills up my spine. SHE’S SUPERB! I can see why she made it to number 2 on the Jazz charts.

With a labor of love,

Bio

I guess you can say I have been singing for as long as I can remember my father, I was told sang street corner harmony with the fellas and my mother sang with a group in Pennsylvania called Freedoms Pride. I remember watching her at festivals in front of 100's of people and saying one day I will be doing that too. I remember wearing a towel on my head and giving my Nanny (grandmother) her private show. I would sing Chaka Khans’ Everlasting Love and Hollywood over and over again. My Nanny, she would just sit there and smile and say how good I was. I enjoyed singing as a teen with my brothers and sisters Kevin, Karmentrina and Keenan (Expired 7 April 2007). We didn’t like all the practice time but it was nice singing and people loved it when my mother joined in. It was a family affair. My mother introduced me to music and taught us all how to harmonize. and I try to share that with my son, nieces and nephews.

I am a person who loves to sit and think which drives me to write, I am a true romantic, especially in the songs I write. I like to write things people can relate to. I think we all go through similar situations but it is nice to know you aren't the only one.

I fell in love with Luther in the early 80’s. His background harmony arrangements blew me a way. I guess you could say I get HIGH ON HARMONY. I love singing in front of people because I love to feel the response that I get when sharing my talent. I know it is a blessing, for I can touch people with a song. A feeling that can't be replaced. I love both small and large arenas but the weird thing is I don’t like crowds of any kind when I am not performing. I am more comfortable when I am on stage and after I sing the first note. I am in my world and only I can invite the audience in.

I love that I have a fan base who appreciates my music and supports me. Without fans to support me, there would be no Kimmy J. Kearse, Solo Artist.

God, Family, Close friends and Music are the most important things in my life. I cherish them all and I thank God that he has given me such a gift to share with anyone who wants to listen and enjoy my music.

I guess you can say – “I got the music in me (smile)”
