NEWS AND UPDATES:

APRIL 26, 2012:
Great news. I was selected as one of 32 finalists in the 2012 Grassy Hill New Folk Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. I'll be performing on Sat., May 26th at approximately 1:15 pm at Threadgill stage. It's an honor to be selected as a finalist, so I'm pleased, very happy. If I go no further, I will still be happy. The songs that were chosen are getting recognition I'd hoped they would one day.

APRIL 2012:
Below is a brief, up-to-date, synopsis of where I'm at with my career. The Calendar on this site is always up-to-date.

CATALOG OF WORK:
Unfortunately, on this site I cannot give you the broad stroke of my music catalog in audio or video form because of the limitations of my Sonicbids profile level. Below is a list of links for hearing/viewing more audio and video.

Audio - SONICBIDS
On this site you'll find two Award-winners represented on the Audio page along with 3 other songs. Three songs are folk demos and two are cuts from my latest release, DRIVE (2010). "You're My Falling Star," Track 4, from DRIVE, was a finalist in the Jazz category of the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. "Leavin' Happy," a Single about a woman from Happy TX, was a finalist in the Folk category in that contest as well.

ABOUT PAULA
Paula is an award-winning, Austin-based songwriter and performer. Raised in New England and Spain, her music is informed by a variety of influences from classical music and popular jazz, to folk, rock & blues. Since arriving in Austin in 2005, she's gained steady recognition and respect as a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist whose penchant for melody, storytelling and poetic lyricism create a profound emotional experience for her audiences. She has appeared regularly at such venues as Momo's, the Bugle Boy, the Cactus Cafe and Anderson Fair and on the stage at the Bluebird Cafe, Labyrinth Walk Coffeehouse and Uncle Calvin's. She plays frequently with noted guitarist Andrew Hardin (www.andrewhardin.com). Paula's music is described as lyrically rich, melodic and sensual … with themes ranging from longing, love, loss, surrender & faith to stories of struggle and redemption.
