Biography
The Fire Numbers can be seen on some of Toronto's most legendary blues music stages, including the Cadillac Lounge and Grossman's Tavern.
In 2008, the band was featured at the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, one of Canada’s leading blues festivals.
The band is also the primary live outfit for Toronto blues guitarist/song writer Chris Antonik.
Guitarist Chris Antonik derives influence from the philosophy and style of Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, Carlos Santana, Freddie King, among others, and has shared the stage with blues legend Mel Brown and has also appeared as a session player on various recordings (see www.chrisantonik.com).
Vocalist Henry Lees has shared the stage with some of Canada's most respected talents, including Colin James and Natalie MacMaster (while performing coast to coast with Canadian musician and philanthropist Tom Jackson).
The band also features drummer Anthony Lucic, who has performed and recorded in and around Toronto in various bands including star.star and The Fortunates, bassist Don Forster, who brings years of experience from the Australian music scene and has opened for Australian music legends INXS and Jimmy Barnes, and the versatile Rob Cooper on organ, piano and backing vocals. Rob has worked as a performer, composer, and session player with some of Ontario’s finest singer/songwriters for over a decade.
