Biography
Former bassist for Grammy Award winner James Cotton, Charles has shared the stage with a number of accomplished artists in a variety of genres ; alternative rock group Inflatable Soule, rap group Cypress Hill, blues,R&B and jazz artists Lucky Peterson, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, Marcus Miller, Otis Taylor,Shemekia Copeland, Otis Rush,Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Bernard Allison, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Johnson, and numerous Jazz ensembles. He is also a successful band leader in his own right and has played numerous venues throughout the country.
Charles has stayed dedicated to his career in music. As not only an exceptional bass player but also an accomplished song writer Charles transcends a single genre and brings his experience and talent to everything from classical to contemporary jazz, blues to funk and R&B to hip-hop.
Charles’ recording career takes him up even another level. Stepping into the studio with the likes of Cee Cee Peniston , Farly “Jackmaster” Funk and George Jackson of Ruff N’ Tuff Records puts him in some great company!
By fusing an amazing blend of music and experience over his career Charles brings an incredible and unique presence to every performance.
