A real farmer singing real country! Brandon got his start in the music business as a finalist on Nashville Star in 2003. He won the local contest sponsered by KISS country in Fresno, with his rendition of Love Sick Blues, by Hank Sr. Brandon's look with spiked hair and flip flops didn't look country, but he had the crowd on their feet before he finished. Brandon was chosen out of 8000 applicants to participate in the reality tv/talent contest on USA Network. He finished in the top 5, without any prior performing experience. Brandon has opened for well known country singers, Lonestar, Buddy Jewell, Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, SHeDAISY, Phil Vassar and a few others. He's done several acoustic shows across the US from NYC to Las Vegas. Brandon's style has been compared to Dwight Yoakam, Garth Brooks, Joe Diffie and the Bakersfield sound of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. He recorded Act Naturally on the Nashville Star CD and was presented with a plaque for an outstanding performance from one of the songwriters of Act Naturally, Vonnie Morrison, she said it was the best performance she's heard and seen since Buck Owens released it in March of 1963, Brandon's version was realeased in March of 2003, 40 years later.
Brandon won 3rd place in the Billboard songwriters contest 2004 for his song Heaven Needs Angels, which was written after friends of the family lost their daughter in a boating accident. This song also was chosen as a semi-finalist in the International songwriting contest out of 11,000 entries in 2004. Brandon was chosen to showcase at the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival for up and coming independent musicians who are making headlines in the music industry. Look for Brandon's interview in the December issue of UNSIGNED Music Magazine.
Brandon likes traditional country music, Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, but adds his own style to the vocals.

With virtually no performance experience, Brandon demonstrated astonishing stage finesse and impressive vocal individuality. this was one of the quirky original songs the tractor-driving rabble rouser sang on the show. As a record, it's just as charming as it was live on TV. Charlie Robison and I lobbied hard to get him on the show, and his new That Boy Ain't Right CD doesn't let us down for one moment. You go, Brandon!

When the 25 year old Hanford native belted out that song on USA networks "Nashville Star" it pretty much solidified that Silveira wouldn't just be sittin' around anymore. He's in demand - playing shows across the country, including a little twanging in Las Vegas this week.

The songs ( co written with friend Curtis Marsh), are well crafted, the instrumental performances are solid, and the production is clean. Brandon's voice makes the CD. His smooth baritone has just the right amount of characteristic country twang. Previous comparisons to Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Hank Williams are right on the mark, except Brandon's music is considerably more youthful. Maybe it's the hair.
