Biography

The soul behind Plasticine Porter works by day as an elementary school teacher. From years of playing garages and basements as a trippy bass player, he is finally ready to step out onto the porch. The rich culture of mountain music in the heart of the Blue Grass, Lexington, Kentucky, has permeated his every pore and, through a deep injection of psychedelic pop, explodes with this demo. Plasticine Porter has musical training, along with his teaching degree, from the University of Oregon. He has worked as a sideman in a multitude of groups ranging from Jazz, Cajun, Pop Rock, and Hawaiian Luah to the Blues.

Recently the project has been transported to the Mecca of Sin: Vegas, Baby! Playing to a whole new audience, with much criticism and a higher level of showmanship, Plasticine Porter is carving out their name in joshua trees, yucca and mesquite.

  playing it, but unfortunately most of the songs I liked had swearing in it. If it
  is possible, could you please send another demo without the swearing (maybe just
  edit it out) and I'd be happy to play it on my show. If you want, I could also give
  a copy of your demo to our Americana director. I'm sure he'd like your style, and
  you'd probably get more spins from the blue yodel guys and the Hard travelin' revue

  apologies to all who have not heard from us for months about demos
  and other submissions. it has been a very busy year and sometime in
  the spring/summer of 2003, it became impossible to keep up with the
  influx of unsolicited materials. this is to confirm that we received
  your package.
  
  sadly, gone are the days when we could make time to listen to every
  demo that came through the door and write an individual response. we
  long for those days as we sit here looking at boxes upon boxes of
  submissions received in the last 6 months. thank you all for
  thinking of us and considering us with your work. we wish we could
  be of more help, but the bottom line is we don't accept unsolicited
  material and we continue to operate with a regional mandate, meaning
  we only release bands from montreal and eastern canada.
  
  for those of you who were already aware of this, but sent your stuff
  in as a gift or some other manner of friendly offering, we thank you
  and apologise for hitting you with this form e-mail. it has also
  been very difficult to keep track of the spirit and status of each
  package we've received, but we can assure you that discs clearly sent
  as gifts are put in a special 'gift' box and have probably already
  made it to the cd player at some point.
