Biography
Gift Shop was formed when two Philadelphia acquaintances exchanged cd’s. The Cd’s were solo projects that weren’t so good. But together…together; now there was something. These friends were Tyler Kinney and Sigmund Washington, and this project was called Gift Shop.
New songs were recorded meshing traditional song forms with noisy instrumentation. With the addition of haunting vocals from Erin Palmer, the project was complete.
Where others use guitars and synthesizers, Gift Shop employs clarinets and ukuleles to inject the sounds of yesterday into the post-modern world.
Gift Shop harkens back to a forgotten era that never actually existed.
