Biography

Reckless Red is made up of vocalist CJ Nicolai, drummer John Ware ( Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash ), guitarist Rooster Olson ( Chely Wright, Mark Chesnutt ), and bassist Bob Higgins.

Reckless Red's driving sound has equal parts muscle, twang and sweat. Their distinctive recipe is crafted from bluesy stock that's rich in the roots of Americana and never far from a raw, gritty edge. Whether it's large formal venues or backwoods bars ...festival concerts or roadhouse dives -- the band is at home and ready to get a little reckless!

I describe Reckless Red as a mix of Country, Blues, and Rock 'N' Roll played in a laid back but very gutsy way that at times has an Alternative Rock feel to it. ( They play ) straight-up solid rhythms that reach right down into your belly and just make you want to sway with the music. ...CJ and her crew kept the dance floor moving right up until the end. I felt refreshingly mesmerized by a band that refuses to be typecast! If you have a chance, my suggestion is to make sure you check 'em out in the near future...
