Born in the Midwestern region of the U.S.A., Jameelah comes from a family of musicians and singers and is known for her unique and electrifying style of performing the covered songs of Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Teena Marie, Patti La Belle, Billy Holiday, Etta James, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, The Emotions, Heather Headley, En Vogue, Chaka Khan, Erica Badu, Jade, Sade and many of the neo-soul and smooth sounding artist of today and yesterday, while she continues to receive much recognition for her outstanding vocal talents.
She has performed nationally in many states throughout the USA; including Kansas, Colorado, Vegas, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Alabama amongst other Western, Midwestern, Southern and Eastern area of the USA as a lead vocalist
Jameelah released her debuted CD 'Jameelah's World" in May 2007 and is in the process of and preparing to release her New CD "Brand New Love in the near future.
Her CD "Jameelah's World" is gaining popularity internationally in Amsterdam, London, Canada and other countries outside of the USA as well. Her single remake of Marvin Gaye's classic What's going on rated 2nd to Wayman Tisdale's - "Front Runna" on smooth jazz spaces top 10 internet radio show located in Bonaire, GA. Her CD debuted on Kuvo 98.3 Jazz fm radio in Denver Colorado and has been aired on many syndicated radio shows nationally and internationally
