Biography

2011
Tim Played at the Belfast Nashville songwriting festival and was joined by world renowned Flute player Michael McGoldrick and amazing Fiddle player Dezi Donnelly.

Tim also toured Brazil and played various festival in Europe.

Tim O'Connor (Now Based in France) has carved his own path and has built a strong reputation as a singer and songwriter and a great live perfomer. A Troubadour for the 21st century. An Eclectic musical melting pot with a strong folky edge.

"Influenced by a myriad of musical styles woven into Tims insightful, melodic and heartfelt, contemporary yet age old sounding songs" Drawing influence from The Beatles Dylan/Van Morrison,Tom Waits,Johhny Cash/ and traditional Irish music. truly (Bringing it all back home) and then

My father entertained the troops in www2 playing George Formy style and i started entertaining when i was young. Ive played all over the world in many venues from dives in small fishing villages in North east scotland to concert halls with an orchestra in France. Ive played at CGGBs the gallery in New York and ive worked with many wonderfull musicians from very diverse backgrounds. Ive also run songwriting workshops all over England. Ive written more than 200 songs and im constantly inspired by music.

1991
with a group called Blue John Mines. then i joined one of the leading celtic rock groups (Citizen Swing) and
1994
recorded "Raise the roof" Folk Roots at the time said we were one of Englands top live acts.
1996
i recorded a solo album "Freeland" which was released through FNAC in France.
2001
recorded "Salford sessions. In 2004 i recorded York sessions with a group and
2005
recorded " From the music springs the life" a celtic inspired album with French Musicians.
2007
recorded an album with Sax player echard Engelmann and also a solo album
2009 "Ordinary Day" this is getting good reveiws and airplay 2011
Im currently working on a Various project with Musicians all over the world.

  December festival has Manchester feeling blue
  
  A musician is hoping to warm hearts and spirits in Manchester as part of the city’s first blues festival.
  
  Musician Tim O'Connor, whose Irish roots stem from Tipperary and Kildare, has been selected to play at Manchestes first Acoustic Blues Festival weekend on Sunday, December 2.
  
  O'Connor has been compared to the likes of Christy Moore and Van Morrison and has worked with Arty McGlynn — Van Morrison's guitarist.
  
  He was in Manchesters legendary Celtic blues band Citizen Swing before moving on to other projects, which have taken him all over Europe.
  
  He said: "I hope to get fiddle player Dezi Donnelly to guest with me on the night, I know he's busy with his new album with Sharon Shannon but I hope to persuade him to get involved.
  
  My dad, who was also a professional musician, was a good friend of Val Doonican and they both shared the same manager, Dermot Buckley.
  
  A number of other musicians with Irish roots are also set to line up for the festival.
  
  And festival promoter Tony Hennigan said: “Tim’s played the venue before, he is a first-class musician and the possibility of him teaming up with Dezi Donnelly will be an awesome combination and one of the highlights of the festival.
  
  
  Ireland has a strong tradition of producing major blues artists, with the likes of Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison and Thin Lizzy to name just a few.
  
  Ireland stages a number of annual blues festivals so we are just trying to capture some of that spirit over here.
  
  The event is being held on Friday, 30 November until Sunday, 2 December at the m19 bar in Levenshulme, which is at the heart of Manchester's biggest Irish community.
  
  Other artists appearing include Robert John, Adriene OToole, Martin And The Manoevres, James Walker, Bob Long, Ian Kenned, and Matt
  
  ¦ Tickets are £3 or £5 for a weekend pass. Doors open 7pm on Friday night and at 2pm for the Sunday afternoon session. Email the box office at bluesfest@hotmail.co.uk for tickets.

Setlist

I have a vast repetoire of songs. Ive written over 200 of my own in various stlyes and i know 100s of covers from Hank Williams to the Smiths. I know alot of Blues/jazz/country/Irish songs as well as most Beatles songs.
