Biography
A fusion of new age soft rock and multi-layeredness of classic rock production. Imagine James Taylor getting together with David Gilmore, or Crosby Stills and Nash arranged and produced by members of Genesis... or Jethro Tull.
Isle of Glass is a collaborative effort focused around the songwriting of multi-instrumentalist David Aimone. Their initial release featured David Aimone, Lezlie Dana and Michael Carlito. With plans to take the music on the road, the band has been joined by Mitch Markowitz (guitars and vocals) Adam Witt (percussion), Lucy Kriger (keyboards, guitars & percussion) and Kieran Aimone (percussion and keyboards).
The music is an eclectic mixture of rock, folk, classical and world influences -- ranging from mellow and beautiful to driving and heavy through the use of a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments. Often compared to classic bands such as Pink Floyd, Beck, Moody Blues, Peter Gabriel and Genesis, the band carves out a new niche that is both accessible and challenging to the listener.
Lezlie Dana comments on the project: "David's music has magically transformed these dusty words into something so much richer, so much more encompassing. He has recognized the soul element of my written pieces and has given each an unexpected voice, creating a more dynamic and elevated expression of my original impulses!"
