Two Brothers, Two Others, and a Samurai.
An unexpected Rock/Soul wildfire from the woods of the Pacific NW... Volifonix is a funk-fried rock band that originated in unlikely Oakland, Oregon with brothers guitarist/vocalist Trevor and drummer/vocalist Blake Forbess. Two bros in voice form an alliance with Elijah Medina after hearing him play bass at rural Sutherlin High School... and the band of three promptly moves to free-art epicenter Eugene, Oregon where they meld styles with University of Oregon student and fellow sonic spelunker, lead guitarist Joe McClain. Winter of 2008EVFX motates to Beverly Beach, Oregon and fuses with Tomo Thesamurai and his saxophone tracks, hailing from Tokyo, Japan. Result: artistic freedom with no bounds and pure muso-theoretical kung fu served up with a muscley groove. VFX elevates style to the highest always within the spirit of well-crafted songmanship and the all-important jam. Reckless yet focused... crazy yet smooth. Volifonix is the true sage of its form with an O R I G I N A L hair-on-fire approach to the hot/rock/funk genre.

VOLIFONIX RETURNS FROM FRESH CLIPPINGS TOUR!
Volifonix, sponsored by Ninkasi Brewing, has returned to their home state of Oregon from their Fresh Clippings Tour showcasing their full length CD Oregonisms; a two-month, forty-three date, six state voyage through the Pacific Northwest that culminated with their performance at Bumbershoot 2009 in Seattle on September 6th. Volifonix is touring locally through spring; highlights include being selected to open for Everclear at the WOW Hall in Eugene, February 17th.

With songs like Green Envy, Finally Realized, and Different Version, “Oregonisms” hits the sweet spot between nostalgia and modern ingenuity. With funky bass riffs from Elijah Medina and rocking electric guitar from Joe McClain, this is straight up strutting music. Volifonix was conceived out of the prodigal minds of Trevor and Blake Forbess. Trevor, on lead vocals, tops the album off with a unique soulful voice that accentuates the groove while Blake backs him up with supporting vocals and regulates the beat on drums. Just as the origin of the name implies, this music will get you moving.

  Volifonix Dominates on their Pacific Northwest FRESH CLIPPINGS Tour!
  Eugene based funkadelic rock band Volifonix has returned to their home state of Oregon after touring their full length CD "Oregonisms" - a two-month, forty-three date, six state voyage through the Pacific Northwest that culminated with their performance at Bumbershoot 2009 in Seattle on September 6th.
  
  Eugene, Oregon is known for being a hotbed of unique musical talent and Eugene Weekly calls Volifonix the "Best Rock Band of 2008." The city's favorite funk-rockers will follow up their tour with return engagements at various Oregon/Washington venues with an extended winter tour in December 09/January 10.
  
  Volifonix originated in Oregon in 2006 with Blake and Trevor Forbess from Oakland, Elijah Medina from Sutherlin and Joe McClain from West Linn. VFX was joined by Tomo Tsurumi from Tokyo, Japan in February of 2009; the group is now based in Eugene.
