Hannah Bingman is a straight-up folk singer-songwriter. She is often compared to her contemporaries like Norah Jones and Ani DiFranco. But Hannah takes her love of the blues and down to earth pop melodies from artists such as Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Woody Guthrie, and the Beatles.

Biography

Hannah Bingman is a twenty-seven year old singer-songwriter living in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. She picked up the guitar at age thirteen and soon after began penning her own songs. By age sixteen, she was hitting the singer-songwriter circuits of central Pennsylvania and delivering her own brand of folk to the audiences of coffee shops, bars, and punk shows. Soon after graduating with a degree in music management from Frostburg State University, she grabbed the top prize
>in the 2006 Susquehanna Folk Music Society Songwriting Contest. In 2011, she was selected as Regional Round Finalist in the Mountain Stage New Song Contest. Bingman has three albums under her belt and a wealth of performance experience, having played venues up and down the east coast. She continues to capture listeners with her guitar abilities as well as her lyrical prowess, gaining opening slots for notable acts such as Kaki King, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, the Infamous Stringdusters, Ellis, Jeffrey Gaines, and Christine Lavin.
