Biography

The Snake Charmers are a rockin', swingin', bluesy band, twice nominated (2009 and 2010) for Houston Press Music Awards for blues.

After years in other music ventures, The Snake Charmers began in 2002 when spouses Will Blumentritt and Marie Angell created a band to “play what they like, and like what they play.” Keeping it in the family, they added eldest son Eric Blumentritt on drums and relative through the “Brotherhood of Man,” guitarist Larry Meeker.

The Snake Charmers' well-received album, "Been Gone Too Long," features 10 contemporary blues tracks written by The Snake Charmers' vocalist/keyboardist Marie Angell. An eclectic mix of blues, blues rock, and The Snake Charmers own brand of charm itself, the music leads the listener through the breadth of The Snake Charmers' music, capturing slices of life that everyone can relate to.

The Snake Charmers' music is heard worldwide via broadcast and internet radio as well as a number of blues podcasts.

Their song "Big Big Love" was selected for the compilation, "Love Letter to New Orleans," which was released in October 2009.
