KiNDERGARTEN

Kindergaten is dragging the 1970;s into the year 2025. A heavy reliance on visionaries like Talking Heads, David Bowie and Prince is jus the begnning of Kindergarten's sound. The end result is entirely original, and if you've never heard a song about a cyborg who thinks he's a man ...

Biography

The human struggle, the human condition. Human triumph, human stupidity, and bodily functions. Things you see in your dreams, things you see on the streets. Things you may see in the future, and things you wish you'd seen in the past.

This IS the New York sound that has been missing for 25 years! KiNDERGARTEN uses the latest in "state-of-the-art songwriting technology", combining obscure twists and turns with places of comfort and familiarity. All the while, maintaining their nostalgic, gritty funk/punk roots, pooling their influences from the likes of Talking Heads, Television, Elvis Costello, AC/DC, David Bowie, Lou Reed, The Cars, Prince, etc. The lyrics are always meaningful and never boring. The music will make you think, bop your head, or maybe, just dance the night away.

Setlist

We currently have around 30 functional original songs, and know over 50 covers.

A typical 45 minute set list will include about 10 or 11 songs. 1 or 2 of those will be a cover song, as we belive playing a cover will attract new listeners. (the people chatting at the bar).

We are very selective with our covers, and like to try to surprise people with our choices. A few artists we cover are Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Michael Jackson, Sugarhill Gang, En Vogue, Whodini, Vanilla Ice, Survivor, Europe, Pat Benetar, Joe Walsh, etc.

Also, a typical set list will include some witty and lude banter between songs. People laugh, we have fun.
