Artist Information

Biography

Matt Code is a solo artist based in New York City. Matt's music career began to soar in the spring of 2002 when he was instrumental in starting the band Barakus. During the four years that Barakus was together, Matt developed a musical persona and a distinctive voice that was often compared to Jim Morrison. With his unique style of composition and tremendous musical energy, Matt Code will clearly be a force in the music industry.

Barakus disbanded in the spring of 2006 due to creative and business differences. After the band broke up, Code with a revived energy, rediscovered his lost passion for song writing and set off for New York City in the fall of 2006.

Over the disappointment of the failed Barakus and filled with new resolve, Code would rethink the way he would write music. The music would be filled emotion and the lyrics would symbolize the times in which we live. The ideas grew over the summer of 2006 to the spring of 2007 and the album was given a name... "An Alarming Rise". Within one year of Barakus ending, 12 songs emerged. Some songs such as "A Time For A Revolution" and "Fog of War" have political overtones, but "All For Love" and "Temple Of The Sun" give the album a full spectrum of themes.
