Artist Information

Biography

From the beginning, Arnett Hollow has put a distinctive stamp on whatever and wherever they have played. Steeped in bluegrass, old time, and other world music, the band has always pushed the boundaries of their influences to unique places. Arnett Hollow's second album, "Night After Night," finds the band digging deeper into their musical roots. Recorded in Nashville, TN, with Grammy Award-winning engineer Phil Harris, "Night After Night" shows the band moving further away from their traditional influences and into their own, unique sound. Writes Jeffery Lee Puckett of the Courier Journal, "Calling Arnett Hollow a bluegrass band is more about convenience than accuracy. Even the 'newgrass' tag doesn't cut it, although the band certainly has ties to and roots in both genres."

Since the release of their debut album “After the Rain” in 2007, Arnett Hollow has expanded its regional presence—being featured on the cover of Louisville Music News and performing for the Kentucky Homefront radio broadcast on WFPK, as well as the Homegrown Music Series at 4th Street Live! in Louisville.

In 2009, Arnett Hollow was invited to be a part of the Silver Jews' historic final show at the Cumberland Caverns, where Nashville Scene blog “The Spin” stated, “the five-piece performed a solid set of tightly arranged songs, each containing the requisite amount of swift-fingered Louisville shredding.” The show was broadcast on June 27th on the legendary WSM Radio. The band most recently performed at the Forecastle Festival for the second year in a row.

Arnett Hollow consists of the talents of Mike Dufresne (vocals/double bass), Chris Rodahaffer (vocals/guitar), Cheyenne Mize (vocals/fiddle), Rob Edwards (percussion), and Dave Chandler (vocals/guitar). All accomplished musicians, the members of Arnett Hollow have shared stages with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Ben Sollee, Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket, Days of the New, the Fervor, Zongo, Apollo Sunshine, and The Cairo Gang, just to name a few.
