Biography
Terry M is an experienced rock/pop singer, composer, musician and performer from the Greater Vancouver area in B.C., Canada.
His favourite band has always been The Beatles, but he has many influences from the sixties right to the present, especially in the rock and pop genres.
Mostly self-taught on guitar & piano playing “by ear” Terry began composing music as a teenager.
Terry worked on a contract basis as a Music Inspector for S.O.C.A.N. (Society of Composer, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) and in 1993 was also selected to participate in Vancouver's "Advanced Songwriter Workshop", co-coordinated by the Songwriter's Association of Canada (SAC).
He had fun working as an extra in many movies and TV shows including a Walt Disney Mini Series Davy Crocket, MacGyver, 21 Jump Street, two Martin Sheen movies and was a "photo double" for John Stamos.
Terry performed solo as a quarter finalist at a “DuMaurier Talent Competition” at the Vancouver Hyatt Regency and locally at the 1994 quarterfinals of the "B.C. Exposed" Band Competition.
On the strength of his "home demos", Terry received almost 100 hours of recording experience recording pre-productions demos at the Columbia Academy of Music and the Trevas Institute of Recording Arts. In 1990, Terry performed/starred in a student produced pop video, featuring one of his original songs that received airplay on Much Music.
In 1995, Terry was hired to write/arrange and produce a "jingle" (3 versions) that was aired continuously on AM/FM radio. Local songwriters have hired him to co-write, record and produce their demos.
He has performed on Chek 6 TV and was interviewed on Rogers Cable 4 and Radio CITR-FM.
Terry has performed in countless venues all over the Greater Vancouver Area in various rock/pop cover bands, singing lead vocals, playing guitar and keyboards. His bands have included Hard Rock, Pop, Top Forty and Classic Rock.

Terry was chosen as a Semi-Finalist in the 2008 international “UK Songwriting Contest” for his song “REAL LOVE”. (over 6200 entrees)

Received 2 “Honorable Mention” certificates from Mike Pinder’s “Songwars Songwriting Competition”.
Terry was selected as a "Runner Up" in the December 2008 round of the “Song of the Year” song and lyric competition. (“Song of the Year” receives entries from all over the world and only the top entries achieve Runner Up status.)
Re: his song “Summertime”, it was selected as a “Runnerup” in the “Song of the Year (2009) contest. (The Runner Ups are the highest ranked songs that scored just under the scores of the Winner and Finalists)

Instrumentation
From solo (unplugged acoustic) to 4 or 5 piece (or more) rock band.
Terry sings Lead vocals, plays guitar & sometimes keyboards.

Depends on the venue,event, etc. but Terry generally will play 1 or 2 45 minute sets of original material with a few classic rock covers. His cover material includes Beatles/Stones/Tom Petty/Mellancampe/Lenny Kravitz/Sam Roberts/etc. etc.
