Biography

Icris short for I am a christian, is a hip hop artist hailing from Muskegon, Mi. Icris is making hip hop with a message and bringing back great lyrics. If your looking for a true professional that always leaves the crowd wanting more than Icris is perfect for your event. From the first song to the encore Icris gives a super high energy set that's fun and uplifting at the same time. Icris holds a degree in Biblical Studies and is the former Head of Jr. High Ministry for Resurrection Life Chruch Ionia. Today he is Founder and Head of Ministry for Secret Society Music Ministries. His music draws from the many different life events Icris has been through including surviving 2 drownings, 2 suicide attempts, several overdoses, 2 car accidents, being thrown from a motorcycle head first into a concrete parking block with no helmet, a near fatal parachuting accident and being stabbed in the heart and lung losing 2/3rds of all the blood in his body. Icris is a former drug dealer and thief that has pulled guns on people with the intent on taking life. He was diagnosed severe bipolar with personality disorder living to get high. The serious problem he had with drugs led to a weekend where he cleared out his families bank account and went on a cocaine and alcohol bender where he was waving a shotgun around and cutting both his wrist. After a stint in rehab and with the help of his wife and Resurrection Life Church Ionia. He got his life on track. Icris has been doing music for years. He started out doing hip hop with all the cussing, drugs and abusing women he could fit into his lyrics. He soon grew tired of living the hip hop lifestyle so he tuned out and got hooked on xtacy which grew into the cocaine addiction. After being set free and giving his life back to God he completed a stint in rehab and the passion for music was revived inside him. Now he travels extensively teaching the love and forgiveness of God through His life stories told in exceptional hip hop music. He started work on his first CD "Stereotype" in 2007. Since then he has been able to grow a large local following and has released his follow up Christophany, and a side project called Balance. To date the sales of Icris music numbers in the thousands. The new Icris Cd "Why So Serious" is due out this May. Today Icris is addicted to Mounds bars and Expresso drinks and makes music for all those who enjoy really good hip hop. Icris looks forward to hearing from you and would love to come rock your concert event and minister through Gods gift of beats and lyrics. Currently the music of ICRIS is being featured in one of acclaimed director Joel Valleie's movies(Corazon De Campeon). The music of Icris is also being played on the radio,I tunes, and can be found at select retailers.

Instrumentation

Ghanghus Goins-vocals/cowbell. I also travel with a hype man and sometimes a live band of 3 guitars (Seth Krenz,Dana Drake,J.D. Hider), 1 bass (Corey Fothergill), 2 vocalist(Seth Krenz and Chris Lake), and 1 drummer(Zach Fell). (Bringing the band depends on what type of event is being held.
