Biography
The origins of the band started with a chance encounter between two weekend warriors on a recreational basketball court. One of these weekend warriors was also a drummer. The other had a friend who played piano and organ. Names and phone numbers were exchanged. Soon jams and practices deep in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains became gigs in gut bucket blues dives and family festivals throughout Northern California. The band's repertoire evolved from a scattered mixture of rock, pop, R&B, and blues into the tight, well defined mix of rockin’ blues it now plays almost a decade later. However, it was not until the introduction of singer Melody Price in 2005 that the Maniacs quit being just a “good band” and became a downright dangerous experience for anyone who likes their blues laid down hard and with a smile.

Setlist
We will talior our sets to the gig. Normally at night clubs we play four 50 minute sets. At festivals we prefer longer sets and will often play one single long set if the performance time is under two hours.
