Biography
When going to see Stonethrown live, one can expect to experience a dynamic show. Their songs range from hard hitting Pop-Punk, bittersweet Alternative Rock, tender jazz folk ballads, and classically influenced progressive rock which all pay tribute to some of Britiain and America's best Rock bands. Stonethrown have recently released their 3rd ep, 'Chasin Me Around,' which was produced at Waterfront Studios by legendary rock producer Henry Hirsch."
Since their inception in 2006, Stonethrown have accomplished many of their goals. They have performed over 500 shows to date, including sold out shows at the internationally renowned World Cafe Live and The Trocadero in Philadelphia, Pa. Between 2009 and 2010, the band secured performance slots at The Dewey Beach Pop Fest 2009, the Dewey Beach Music Conference 2009, The Dewey Beach Pop Fest 2010, The Millenium Music Conference 2010, The Launch Music Conference 2010, The M.E.A.N.Y. Fest 2010, the 1st Annual Atlantic City Music Conference 2010, and The 1st Annual Philadelphia International Film and Music Festival .
The band has also generated income from international sales of their debut record, "Where You Stand." They posess a relentless DIY (Do It Yourself) spirit and promote their music with the same passion that drives their songwriting and live performances. As a result, they've generated a buzz that has allowed them to appear on national FM radio stations 93.3 WMMR, 94.1 WYSP, 104.5 WRFF, and 98.1 WOCM. Said radio stations have played and still play some of Stonethrown's music on air. The band licensed SIX songs off of "Where You Stand" to MTV2 Canada, Nickelodeon Australia, and Nickelodeon New Zealand. Nominations include, "Best Rock" by The Independent Singer/Songwriter Association and "Philly Artist of The Year," by The Deli Magazine, and honorable mention at M.E.A.N.Y. FEST 2010.
Philadelphia's radio listeners may have heard the single, "Feelin," from "The Nightmares ep" on FM radio stations 104.5 FM WRFF and 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia. It premiered on Radio 104.5's "New Music Show" on June 20th 2010. "Girl" from said ep can be heard on 98.1 FM WOCM Ocean City Maryland.
The band has recently finished a 4 song ep with legendary producer Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Vanesssa Paradis, Jimmy Gnecco). The record is set for an early 2012 release date.
