"Before You Came Around"; the upcoming freshmen debut by Thomas Jonak has definitely been a group effort. The east coast native spent the last year building piece by piece his first album with the help of some old and some new friends. After a brief introduction to producer Warren Huart at Swing House Studios LA in November of 2006 the album was off the ground. Thomas was put in contact with writer/performer/musician Jay Clifford, from Jump Little Children, to begin laying a foundation for "Before You Came Around".
After nearly nine months of writing and re-writing studio time was set aside for the album to be recorded. Tracking began at Swing House Studios august 15th 2007. Assembled for the album were several amazing musicians, including pianist and guitarist Jay Clifford (Jump Little Children) guitarist Dave Levita (Howie Day, Alanis Morissette) drummer Victor Indrizzio (Avril Lavigne, Macy Gray, Aimee Mann) and bassist Dan Rothchild (Beck, Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow). The albums producers, Warren Huart and Dan Rothchild, veterans of the music industry have produced and worked with some of the most influential artist around including Howie Day, The Fray, and Augustana. Now with the album in post production, including mixing by Mark Needham (Killers, Michelle Branch) a tentative release is set for early 2008.
