Biography

Establishing himself well in the Winnipeg folk scene, JD is a phenom singer and a beat poet who speaks through his furious guitar hands. Sometimes leading the 6 piece JD Edwards Band, JD's solo work has garnered national attention and has recently joined forces with Leonard Podolak (The Duhks) and Nathan Rogers to form a new folk trio called Dry Bones. With components of Zeppelin-esque guitar-work and Ben Harper-ish soul, JD is a unique player. JD is an incessant road-warrior, travelling across Canada and Australia, is not afraid to sing his guts out to a crowd of 5 or 500. Having shared the stage with all-stars like Don Ross, Suzie Vinnick, NQ Arbuckle and Hawksley Workman, Mr. Edwards is a growing folk-rock staple and belts out his heartfelt poems with volume and conviction.
