EMI GOSPEL RELEASES
MR. DEL’S LATEST PROJECT,
HOPE DEALER
May 3, 2007
Memphis, Tenn. - Holy hip hop artist Mr. Del is releasing his latest project, Hope Dealer, on June 26, 2007 through a joint venture with EMI Gospel.
“Hope Dealer is a foretelling of the wave of young Christians just like me; Christians that love hip hop music wear urban clothes and enjoy getting crunk! The big difference is that we get crunk for Christ and our goal is to claim other youth for Him. We are the future,” says Mr. Del.
Hope Dealer was produced by industry veterans Drumma Boy (Young Jezzy). It also has features from Fabo of D4L (Laffy Taffy), Gangsta Boo formerly of 3 6 Mafia, and Canton Jones The album features ground-breaking gospel music with beats that bang just as hard as secular hip hop. Hope Dealer does just what the name states Deals Hope instead of spreading messages that glorify sex, drugs and disrespect, it spreads the love of Christ and how He has the power to change lives.
“Fabo, Gangsta Boo, and Drumma Boy are extremely talented indivisible,” shares Mr. Del “They understand that in order to save the unsaved, you have to address issues that are relevant to them and go where they are. Hope Dealer delivers just that with its phat beats and lyrical content which will have the power to penetrate the soul.”
This Gospel Hip Hop Apostle is no stranger to the rap game. Formerly a member of platinum-selling group Three-Six Mafia, Mr. Del rededicated his life to Christ in 2000 and started a revolution of young Christians in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn. Known as Holy South, this movement has spread its operations to the Midwest, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina and Canada, while claiming thousands of lives for Christ along the way. He is also the pastor of City of Refuge Church in Memphis.
This is Mr. Del’s follow up album to The Future and has also released three independent holy hip hop albums on his label, Holy South Records. He was nominated for a 2005 Grammy in the “Best Rock Gospel Album” category for his fiery feature, “Shake’em Off” on EMI Gospel’s Holy Hip Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets, Vol. 1.

THE FUTURE
Arguably, the title 'The Hardest Working Man in Hip-Hop' could go to the prolific head of the Holy South Movement, Mr. Del.
The former Three 6 Mafia front man is back with his seventh album in five years. This time, Mr. Del takes us into The Future with a fiery twelve-track project that cements his role as the 'King of Holy Crunk.'
This release marks a major milestone in the artist’s career, as he has partnered with the rising Holy Hip Hop label, and gained distribution through EMI. That means worldwide exposure.
As longtime fans have come to expect, Del doesn’t disappoint. He drops serious heat on this project, and laces every drop of crunk juice with potent lyrics that address real life and give direction for the future.
The leadoff cut "Temptationz" addresses a myriad of enticements that young people encounter and empowers all to resist the attractions and do the Christ thing. You’re guaranteed to overdose on your crunk-filled cappuccino with tracks like "Holy South" and "Calm Down".
The unexpected twist here is Del’s ability to detour from the anticipated Holy South sound and venture into other avenues, which serves to highlight his diversity and lyrical flexibility. Del takes on an East Coast vibe and teams with S. Fox on the funky "So Necessary". The emcee then slows it down a bit on the provocative "Feelin’ You".
Keeping with the love vibe, Del partners with the creative Canton Jones on the hard-hitting "Love On God", which fosters spiritual intimacy with the Father as opposed to natural intimacy in pre-marital conditions.
And when was the last time you heard an emcee go into worship? You get your fill with the tracks "Worship You" and "All About You", which features the multi-talented bassist Debra Killings on vocals. Let it never be said that an emcee can’t worship, for Mr. Del puts it down with the best of them.
Mr. Del enlists the help of several ladies from the Holy South family as W.O.G. spit fire on the slick "Tonite". Add the transparent singles "Fire In My Eyes" and "Lurkin’ In Me" and you have another keeper from the visionary of the Holy South Movement.
It’s clear that The Future is so bright, we all need a funky pair of shades.

Mr. Del hits a Grand-Slam with his August 2, 2005 debut Album Release titled: The Future. Mr. Del (formerly of Gangsta Rappers Three6Mafia) now a Memphis Preacher Starts off with probably one of the grittiest Christian rap songs ever made-TEMPTATIONZ, where he and his crew illustrate, in ear-poppin and what will probably be seen as somewhat controversial street vernacular, the struggles of dealing with the daily allures and temptations of life (sex, drugs, alcohol, violence) and no stone of temptation is left unturned and then then its quickly time to get mad Crunk on the track-HOLY SOUTH, followed by two sure Chart-Makers CALM DOWN, where Mr. Del and Canton Jones put the smack down on all 'Haters, Pimps, Tricks, Simps and Hustlers' with a catchy message to Relax, Chill and Calm Down. Mr. Del shows his versatility and debut rapper 'S.Dot Fox' raps that "Traditional Church betta wake up and reach the streets" in an eloquent tone that will surely raise even Jay-Z's eyebrow with a catchy cross-over track-SO NECESSARY.
Warning: Mr. Del's: The Future is not for the faint at heart, will probably shake-up the traditionally, close-minded conservative Christian community and surprisingly for a Christian preacher, there are no sugar-coated candy lyrics. Mr. Del simply tells it like it is and there has never been such an in-your-face, straight-talking Gospel CD ever made like this one. Mr. Del amazingly raps in the language of the streets without one curse word and somehow manages to still lay it down hard with piercing lyrics and speaker bustin beats. Mr. Del has turned his life around and is no longer Tearin Da Club up with Three6Mafia, which is why I give his album ****Four Stars out of Five and give it an Amen. Mr. Del and his Holy Ghost army are raising the bar with solid lyrics and flawless production and Hip-Hop headz betta recognize before they are left behind.
