Biography
Milwaukee's own The Raid have added their own unique spin to hard rock music allowing them to showcase their talents at numerous large-scale events such as the Miller 150th Anniversary Celebration, the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Celebration, Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest, Riversplash, Harvest Fair and Rooterpalooza as well as events at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson and House of Harley-Davidson. They've also performed at top clubs in the area such as Rooter's, Kelly’s Bleachers II, O’ Brien’s, Yester Year's, The Brat Stop, Mo's Irish Pub and Whammy Bar among others. The Raid has shared the stage with top national acts including Sevendust, 38 Special, 12 Stones, Three Days Grace, Candlebox, Krokus, Jackyl, L.A. Guns & Bulletboys.
The Raid started fifteen years ago when select members of Milwaukee’s most established cover acts of the late eighties decided to come together to form their own group for a one-time benefit show. They agreed that the material they played would highlight the best in hard rock music. It was meant to be a temporary reunion of sorts for the members with the understanding that the band was being assembled for only one performance. The group performed for the first time in March of 1998 to a wildly supportive crowd. The quality delivery and reminiscent value of the selected songs received a riotous response. This newly found enthusiasm felt among the members led them to agree to the continuance of the band.
After hundreds of successful performances, The Raid is stronger than ever. The crowd support and show attendance has risen consistently over the last fifteen years creating a very strong and loyal fan base. The band has worked vigorously to promote themselves as one of the best hard rock cover bands in the area.
Since it’s inception in 1998, The Raid has incorporated other styles of rock into their set lists proving their diversity and devotion to accommodating all rock musical interests. Continually adding songs and variations to the set list over the years has been a process that the members feel keeps The Raid performances fresh and new.
Adding to the show’s appeal, The Raid offers an intense sound and light show. Hearing the live show is one thing but the overall visual experience is an overwhelming plus. An overall exciting and enjoyable performance, on and off stage, has been key to the longevity and success of the band.
Future plans for The Raid are to continue performing their unique style of hard-driving rock that has gained them so much support over the years.
