Biography
Even at first impression, it is obvious that Jon Lall is not just your average singer/songwriter. Lall has a colorful and mesmerizing story that bleeds through in his universally felt lyrics. Growing up as a first generation American in Princeton, NJ, in a family with no musical background, struggling to make ends meet, Lall had to rise above all odds to "make music happen." "I only figured out my place in music a few years ago. A lot of people have been playing and writing music since they were kids, and I got started at 21. I felt kinda late, but knew I had to pursue it," says Lall. And he certainly has come far. Since 2003, when Lall decided to quit his job, change his major and move to Boston where he would attend the Berklee College of Music, he has written on several albums with major distribution (Epic Records, Universal Records, Sony/BMG) performed in notable venues all over the country, including The Bitter End (NYC), The Berklee Performance Center (Boston), The Whiskey (LA), won first place in the OurStage Contemporary Soft Rock Competition, aired on nationally broadcast television shows, and has released a full-band, all original E.P. titled "Execution." Lall and his band are currently planning a CD release in the fall of 2009, followed by an East Coast tour.
Jon Lall's versitile background comes through with resounding clarity in his mix of uplifting rock, soul and rap, giving his music a stamp of originality, while still containing mass appeal. Whether it’s his striking looks, catchy hooks or meaningful messages, you are sure to be held captive instantly.
