Biography
Elle fuses a soulful, organic sound with a hint of world flavor in her second solo album 'No Small Miracle', with a sweet sense of cool and sultry style that's as easy to fall into as a daydream. Growing in Montreal, Canada to musical parents, Elle devoured recordings by artists as diverse as shows off influences by such artists as John Mayer, Carole King, stevie Wonder, Carla Bruni and India Arie to name just a few, as she studied flute, guitar and piano. While lyrically she keeps it real with smart and candid wordplay, her torch-song vocals captivate the listener as she toys with melody and phrasing, yielding delicious results.
Since moving to Los Angeles 4 years ago, Elle has been living her dream. Her songs charted in the top ten in college radio. Through her Pasadena-based label, 5 Alarm Music, Desire has already had tracks placed in TV's "Missing", “The Black Donelly’s”, “Friday Night Lights” and “One Life To Live” and she performed numerous times on national TV. She has studied and performed with such accomplished musicians as Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, American Idol), Airto Moreira (Chick Corea, Sergio Mendez), Mike Shapiro (Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas), Rafael Moreira (Pink, Christina Aguilera) and others. 16 hours after the release of her first full-length album, Desire Rules The World in fall of '07, she hopped on a plane to tour Athens, Istanbul, Israel, Croatia, Austria, Italy, Ireland and England. Her songs have been played on radio overseas both in Austria and Croatia.
THE FUTURE: She has just returned from her second European tour (Fall '08), and has been invited to return to perform various festivals in summer '09. Her second album, No Small Miracle, has been a labor of love. Weaving her sensual voice with deep velvet grooves, she nestles the deep groove of old school soul into the warmth of acoustic pop with just a little motown mojo. "I believe in songs that take what we know and reveal the magic in it".
