Biography
Amanda Martin Fowler is a wife, mother, and hybrid combination of misunderstood Southern Belle and Montana Cowgirl. She's been writing songs for as long as she can remember. American Songwriter Magazine was the first to recognize her talent as a songwriter and featured her in their September/October 2008 issue for her song “Chips”.
Amanda had the good fortune to team up with Atlanta musician, Angela "Bucky" Motter, who has shared the stage with legends like BB King and The Indigo Girls, to name a few.
Motter who has shared the “Songwriters in the Round” stage with John Mayer, Angie Aparo, and a host of other Atlanta performing songwriters, decided to join up with Amanda Martin Fowler in 2008. Together, they have co-written and produced the songs on their debut album, "It's Better to Laugh". Their garage band demos of Trophy Wife, The Tractor Song, Stray, & Big Man were enough to catch Nashville’s attention for mastering a new creative territory, with classic country songs that are “lighthearted and cutting”.
Gary Allen, former drummer of The Charlie Daniels Band, Tennessee Concerts and Nashville City Beat also recognized and personally contacted Amanda to encourage her as a songwriter, even comparing her to a modern day Minnie Pearl. Grammy & Tony award nominated Skip Ewing, one of Nashville’s most respected songwriters, lyricists, & composers, invited Amanda to participate with a select group of songwriters in a workshop hosted by Skip Ewing to help her learn more about the business songwriting.
Prompted by this little bit of encouragement and recognition, Amanda Martin Fowler & Angela “Bucky” Motter reached out to Bucky’s tight knit group of friends to help produce some of the songs they had co-written. With Vanessa Oliveraz as lead vocalists and musicians Walter Ray, Tony Caporale, Clay Cook, and Angela “Bucky” Motter, the songs took on a new life and professional sound. In just a few short months, the songs have been placed in radio/internet broadcast rotation or have been recognized by:
Amanda & Bucky are getting together in Bozeman, Montana over the next few weeks to co-write and finish their album, It’s Better to Laugh. Following their songwriting retreat, everyone plans to head back to Timbre Enterprises to finish the album. After that, watch out, the skies the limit.
