Biography
With new recordings mixed and mastered by the legendary Neil Kernon and the addition of Chicago vocalist Steve Reimer, drummer Jon Ashe,bassist Alex Martirano and guitarist Dan Banker ,Fierce Atmospheres has taken it's sound to a new level. Having had members from legendary bands Nasty Savage(Curtis Beeson) and Death(Scott Carino),the band plays progressive power metal with its main influences being Iron Maiden,Rush,In Flames,ArchMatheos,Dream Theater,Judas Priest,Stratovarius,etc. What sets this band apart is the originality in the songs.The tunes have a strong presence with twin leads and soaring vocal lines that grab the listeners attention,while maintaining a true to form power metal sound.The project started 10 years ago and has had members from 6 states.
The band entered Raxtrax studio in Chicago with producer Neil Kernon to record Iron Maiden's 'Children of the Damned' for a tribute to be released by Versailles Records(OUT NOW!) of Nashville,TN.
UPDATE:Fierce Atmospheres version of Children of the Damned has been so well recieved by the label that the band has been invited to do 2 songs as a part of their next tribute album which will be a tribute to Ozzy(OUT NOW!) FA also recorded 5 new original tracks during the 'Ozzy' session for a new 2012 release 'Where Night and Day Begin',out now direct through the band...
Versailles Records has also invited the band to be a part of 4 other tribute albums all to be released soon..
Fierce Atmospheres performed at Nitecaps Lounge in Chicago,IL Apr.28th 2012 and at The Warriors of Metal Open Air Festival June 29th and June 30th 2012 in Pataskala ,OH USA to great response showing that their form of Progressive Power Metal is valid as ever....The band looks forward to 2013 being very busy with 2 more tribute albums(Dio and Judas Priest) confirmed for a total of 8 the band will be part of.
