Biography
ZANZIBAR plays a mix of infectious, danceable, grooves based on Afro-Funk, Latin, Funk and other styles in an original format. We are based in San Carlos, CA but play throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a tight group of friends who have a shared passion for making people dance and bringing a unique sound to our listeners. We all have fallen in love with the complex rhythms of African and Latin music, but we also appreciate the beauty of a catchy melody and a strong vocalist.
Instrumentation
Our multi-talented Zanzibar cast includes drummer/vocalist Tim Hilborn, guitarist/percussionist Chris Robison, bassist/percussionist Eric Tabellion, percussionist/vocalist Ricardo Molina, lead vocalist/guitarist Kerry Wing, and horn/flute master Dave Hipshman.
Discography
Our self-titled CD is available now and has been getting a lot of positive feedback. We have just begun distributing the CD to local radio stations and we always end up selling a good number of the CD's at our gigs. We have more information about our music at myspace.com/musicofzanzibar.

We have a 20-song set list that can be pared down to fit the time. We play all originals, except a couple of James Brown songs as the mood dictates. We're very versatile and can play for a short or long period of time, as necessary.
