Biography
Philly artist JAY D CLARK plays feel-good roots, reggae, rock, blues, funky soulful grooves with conscious, catchy lyrical hooks sung by a powerfully sweet voice. Well-crafted songs, which take on a life of their own every time.
JDC plays at home with a sizable, select pool of extremely talented musicians & bands, playing often unrehearsed and allowing his backup band to flavor each song uniquely. JDC has begun playing all over the east coast, backed by up-and-coming reggae-rock-jam-funk bands, who also play their own sets. This unique formula has had immediate success and opened up lots of opportunities, as well as creating many different, amazing versions of his songs.
No Jay D Clark shows are ever the same, but the energy and sounds created are always uplifting and powerful.

Clark has worked on many projects, as a writer, producer, musician, singer, director, actor, and artist. He honed his vast and varied skills while working on movies, photo shoots and commercials, between periods of intense screenwriting and songwriting. Clark now is focused on his PhillySmooth Productions, founded in 2002. He finished the Fall of the City music album in 2008, co-produced with Chuck Treece (McRad, Bad Brains, Pearl Jam, G Love, The Roots, Slightly Stoopid, Dre Dre, Billy Joel, Sting...), and is now working on new tracks and other film & television projects, as well as touring to spread his music all over.
