Biography

Lisa Michelle is a passionate and versatile singer, songwriter and actress from Toronto. In February 2011, she celebrated the simultaneous release of two EPs: Love Lessons and Rebound.

Love Lessons is a sweet, jazzy Neo-soul album with sounds reminiscent of Corinne Bailey Rae and India.Arie yet, still refreshingly her own. Rebound explores a distinctly different style, presenting her smooth vocals on synthesized R&B tracks. Produced by Canadian ex-pat Dan "DFS" Johnson in Atlanta, she finds a new voice on Rebound that’s sexier and decidedly more adventurous.

Lisa Michelle has adapted the mantra of her generation: Freedom. Free of genres, labels and limitations, she creates music relevant to who she is in the moment her pen is hitting the page.

Outside the studio, she's had over 100 live, solo performances, shared the stage with Melanie Durrant, Jamesking and Juno-Nominated artist/producer Silver (aka Solitair) and has sung to sold out crowds at the ACC... twice.

Passionate about the development and promotion of talent outside her own, Lisa Michelle co-founded See Saw Live Productions with fellow artist, Areta Marshall. See Saw Live stages music, poetry and theatrical events across the city and has already gained a reputation for providing quality entertainment and for giving local artists invaluable opportunities and experience.

  If you haven't yet experienced the beautiful sensation that is LISA MICHELLE, you've probably not be...If you haven't yet experienced the beautiful sensation that is LISA MICHELLE, you've probably not been paying close attention! She is definately an up and comer, and since I met her back in September last year, I now see her everywhere.
  
  We first met as a fluke. My husband and I went to a rehearsal for an upcoming show, and she was rehearsing ahead of us for the same show. My first thought of LISA was, 'what a pretty lady!', and then she sang--I was pleasantly impressed! She sang two covers, one by Cee Lo and the next K-Os (not an easy feat for a female singer to sing songs by men) and I loved her interpretation of both.
  
  In chatting with her, she mentioned that she is relatively new to performing, that she decided not too long ago to pursue singing as a profession. You would never know/believe it to watch her though. There is such an ease to her performance style that suggests the stage has been her home for years. Watching her live is absolutely delightful!
