Biography
Frode can perform alone or with his band. The full band is a six-piece including Frode.
Frodes music can not be described with one style or genre. It contains elements from many different musical directions and the common denominator is the respect and love for the good song. Frode emphazises the songwriting tradition rather than gimmicks and over-produced record-company-created sound and he doesent let commercial boundries get in the way for it. Frode is inspired by great songwriters like Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Mickey Newberry, Ryan Adams, Lennon/ McCartney, Neil Young and many others. At the age of twelve he started playing the guitar and he was performing music for a living at the age of fifteen. He has been writing songs since then but his writing didn't get a real lift-off untill a couple of years ago. He's currently working on his debut album and his fan-base is growing in Norway. With a no gimmick approach to music Frode sound good all by himself, with the acoustic guitar, harmonica and his voice. When he performes with his band the experience is more intense. The good thing about good songs is that they never go out of style and they always come across to the listener without any enhancement when it comes to production, sound or equipment. The Good Song has a life of it's own and Frode is one of the few that can manage to write these kind of songs without having to imitate or copy the sound of others.
Frode is experienced when it comes to performing. He has worked as a guitarplayer in different bands, on the road and in the studio and he has travelled around Scandinavia and Europe alone for years playing in clubs and bars. For the past three years Frode's been a permanent member of former Midnight Choir singer Paal Flaata's band. They have released three albums and do tours around Norway throughout the whole year. All of the above contributes to Frodes presence in his music and performance and gives the listener a unique experience each time.
