Artist Information

Biography

Deanna wanted to write songs for a CD that would be uplifting and personal. She contacted Kurt “Keys” Fries, who worked with her on her first CD, “A Song For Me and You.” They met at a coffee house on Sunset Blvd. and started creating songs. The first song was the autobiographical “When I Play My Guitar” and ended up being the title cut. After many more meetings at deli’s, restaurants, and various coffee houses, they finally had enough material for a CD. Together they produced and recorded a collection that they are both proud of.

It was time to take it to the public with live performances at The Cowboy Palace Saloon, and various other popular venues. Most recently, Deanna and Kurt have been performing at Universal Studios City Walk. They have been creating fans from around the world. A variety of fans of all ages have commented on how touched they are by Deanna’s voice and songs. For example, one fan stated, “your voice is like a hug.” Deanna and Kurt have a chemistry that mixes lively, and heartfelt performances with expert playing and tight harmonies.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Deanna D’Amico-White was handed a guitar at the age of six by her Aunt Gloria, an entertainer, which woke her up to the dream of becoming a performer. Her journey began with her appearance in various film, television, video and stage productions, as well as commercials. She has performed as a singer and dancer in Nashville, for Natalie Cole, as a member of the Young Americans, and as Disney animated heroines Ariel, Jasmine, and Pocahontas at Tokyo Disneyland. Upon returning from Japan, Deanna bested all singers to become the overall “winner of the year” in a Los Angeles talent contest.

Kurt is also a California native who majored in music composition at UCLA. He earned a BA in music and played with various bands in the USA and abroad. He has opened for Willie Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus, Collin Raye, Lee Ann Rimes, Ronnie Milsap as well as performing with Hank Thompson, Steve Perry and Jo Dee Messina.
