Bio

West Michigan's prestige Country music group "Stolen Horses" delivers pure electric passion. Founder and lead vocalist David Lyle (a.k.a. D.J.) born in 1969 hails from the farmlands of Wayland, MI. Surrounded by Country music from Mom & Dad's music collection David was influenced at an early age. Don William's, Vern Gosdin, Merle Hagard, Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings, just to name a few of his favorites. David's biggest influence of all, his father who played guitar and sang for his family. "The band's sound takes me back to a simpler time of life but their energy and lyrics are new and fresh for today's generation". (Sara Taylor: West Michigan's "Around Town" magazine)

With a debut album "Stick In The Mud" Stolen Horses continues the drive of passion. This album was a 2 year proccess recording 3 songs in Nashville, with producer Gary Sadker. Another 7 songs at TMG in Mustang, Oklahoma, produced by Don Johnson. (who was a Music Director for Emmylou Harris and has also served as Music Director for Ricky Skaggs) You can find this album on I tunes, Amazon, Tate Music Group, or many other online music stores. you may also see their trailer aired on National TV on channels, CMT, MTV, MTV2 VH1 GAC, & RFD TV.

David has spent many years crafting the Stolen Horses project. From winner of open Mic night in the early 1990's at Grand Rapid's legendary club People's Lounge (now known as Twisted Bull) to being in the top 3 bands to win the Grand Rapids Colgate Country Showdown in the mid 90's. This earned them a spot to open for Radney Foster. The first of many shows to perform for a crowd of 10,000.

Now fast forward to today, Stolen Horses "live" consist of 4 top shelf Michigan musicians. David Lyle: Lead vocals/Rythm guitar. Sean Kittredge: Drums/vocals resides in Muskegon, MI. He provides us with his high energy smokin' country chops at every show. Joe Afton: Lead guitar/vocals from Casnovia, MI. He comes from a family bloodline full of musicians even played in a group with his Mom & Dad. Joe is highly influenced by Albert Lee and session player Brent Mason. You can sure tell by his blazin' fast chickin' pickin'. Kevin Sheppard: Bass guitar/vocals from the big village of Saranac, MI. This band has opened for National acts like Zac Brown Band, Justin Moore, Mel McDaniels, Joe Nicholes, and many others. They have performed twice at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers Country night. Opened the Billy Currington Concert at Fifth Third Ball Park in 2012. Stolen Horses also joined Rodney Adkins, Randy Houser, Greg Bates, Jessie James, Matt Stillwell, & Jon Pardi for the largest country concert in Muskegon, MI. 107 MUS Moose Fest 2012.

Stolen Horses song "Live Myself To Death" track 1 on their album represents todays fast pace life style that so many of us can relate to.
