Biography
The Sheryl and Tom Duet bring timeless musical entertainment to any event.
Sweet harmony is their signature sound and this delicious ear candy will paint a picture in your mind.
It is the spirit of fun, and the love of the music, that keeps them connected to the echos of times past.
With the catchy riffs of 50’s pop music they have a set list to please Dream Lovers of all ages.
*Born in Chicago, Sheryl is a wide range vocalist. She sings both lead and back up and also plays light percussion. Influenced by the energy of the city, she writes most of the original music and lyrics for the band. "I write simple songs about, and for, simple people." A huge fan of the perfect two and a half minute pop song, her music often times has a wholesome 1950’s flair. She is an animated performer who claims that, “It’s music therapy, a dose of vitamin jam is good for the soul.”
*Born in the North suburbs, Tom is a dynamic performer and musician. Influenced by Blues and Rock and Roll, he melds the sound of each through his guitar playing and singing. Performing brings the compositions to life and allows him to share his musical vision. His philosophy is, “If it sounds good, play that!”
*Ben E. Miller shares his versitile keyboard with exciting rhythm and style.
Born in Chicago, Ben began studying bass and slide guitar at the Old Town School of Folk Music at age 11. He learned keyboards by looking over the shoulders of all the great piano players with whom he shared a bandstand. His fluid energy feeds the band and he believes, "Live music is best.".
*T. F. Holler and his bass back-beat arrive prepared and keep us grounded. Born in Elmhurst, and inspired by early rock and roll and rockabilly, he has a wide variety of musical knowledge. His favorite quote, "What, me worry?"
*Robert Horn shares his dynamic blues harmonica with inspirational energy. A music major in college, he learned to play the harmonica in the subway while waiting for the train. He said," It is a joy how the musical sensibilities of this ensemble mesh. I love playing behind the wonderful harmonies..."
*Twist Turner was raised in Seattle and has had a 45 year career as a songwriter, producer and drummer. He has worked with over 15 W.C.Handy Blues Music Award winners and 30 grammy winners including Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. His crisp tracks reveal his dedication to detail during recording and performing.
We extend our most sincere thanks to Joyride Studio, Chicago and Engineer Brian Leach for his attention to detail on our 11-21-09 recordings.
