"Woven Green enchants the audience with an artful intensity that is rare and phenomenal. Their creative performances do not go to predictable places, but each aural feast of a musical moment leads to the next one, and it goes exactly where it ought to go."
-Ron Goad Vice President SAW (Songwriters Association of Washington)

"I really love this band. I've had the pleasure and honor of booking them for The Adams Morgan Day Festival in Washington, D.C. The crowd always responds to their music. Jim's honest and soul striking songs are brought to life with Ashley's powerful vocals. The band as a whole has gelled into a strong force. No one can resist at the very least snapping a finger or tapping a toe! I highly recommend giving this band a listen! ....... and NO, they didn't pay me to write this ! ! ! LOL"
-Celestino Zapata, Director, Cultural Stage, Organizing Committee

"Woven Green is a bit off the beaten path; creating wonderfully addictive Pop/Folk/Rock songs with highly unusual subject matter. Woven Green is a superb introduction [and has] an unusually vibrant and intelligent sound. Woven Green’s debut EP, Woven Green, is sure to please."

WHAT"S IN A NAME?
“A child said What is the grass? Fetching it to me with full hands;
How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more than he.
I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven.”
-Walt Whitman, Song of Myself

The name, Woven Green was born from Walt Whitman’s, Song of Myself. In the poem, Whitman turns the innocent question of a child into an invitation, pregnant with possibilities. For some people the name suggests a “state of liberation.” For others, Woven Green has become an iconic symbol of the “green movement.”

THE "GREEN" PROMISE
Woven Green is committed to the promotion of environmental stewardship. Their debut EP and newly released Live CD are packaged with recycled board, all promotional materials are printed on recycled paper, and their t-shirts are made with 100% organic cotton. The members of the band support local farms and do their best to eat as close to 100% local organic farm food as possible. Plans are currently being made to convert both the “mobile green room” (Woven Green’s camper) and the tour van to run on 100% alcohol.
