Artist Information
Biography
New Gravity plays original music, lightly seasoned with a constantly rotating selection of fun and familiar cover songs.
The original music, without ever sounding derivative, can at times evoke the styles of bands like Grateful Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic, in other words, improvisational "jambands."
An evening with New Gravity is bound to cover just a little more ground than you're used to.
"The audience can count on a journey into a new world of music that will carry them from raucous guitar and drum-driven crescendos to mind-bending moments of Theremin-induced bliss to irresistibly groovy bass and drum dance beats to beautiful interludes of piano and cello. " ~ Brevard Live, 2008
There's nothing like a New Gravity show. It's music for the mind.

Setlist
New Gravity doesn't use a setlist. Like the music itself, each show is an improvisational experience. No song is ever interpreted in quite the same way as the time before, no set is ever the same as another, and no two New Gravity shows are ever quite the same.
However, while improvisation and interpretation are truly the essence of our music, it is the solid underlying structure of groovy, funky, and highly danceable rhythms that allows such improvisation to occur.
Though it is a rarity, we may play the same song twice in two shows, but it won't ever be quite the same song.
Cover selections are from diverse artists ranging from Prince to Grateful Dead to John Prine.
