Early in 2006 Everett Brown, Mary Audette, and Tim Reilly formed Barnacle -- a high energy Celtic/sea music/folk band. They appeared throughout New England at venues such as the Rhode Island School of Design, Mystic Seaport Music Festival, New London’s Sail Fest, Stone Soup Coffeehouse, the Wickford Maritime Festival in Wickford, Rhode Island, and at the Windjammer Festival in Camden, Maine.

Mary Audette is a flautist/keyboard/ rhythm mandolin player/guitarist who has appeared throughout New England with groups such as Compass Rose with Dave Peloquin of Maine and Everett Brown. She is one of the recording artists featured on North Star recording of New England Yuletide , on Terry Coe’s Harper’s Fancy, and on the CD compilation entitled Working In Harmony for Home and Hearth.

Everett Brown is a composer/arranger as well as a highly regarded multi-instrumentalist who was a member of the former Wickford Express, and a co-founder of Compass Rose. He has been songwriter/humorist Jon Campbell’s accompanist since the 1980s and has performed at the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts.

Jon Cannon, hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and is a graduate of Brown University. In addition to playing fiddle, guitar, and mandolin with Barnacle, Jon is a member of Yarmulkazi, Brown University’s Klezmer band, the Brown University a cappella pirate group ARRR, the gypsy/jazz group Gypsy Nights, and the punk sea music band, Sharks Come Crusin’, Three Sheets to the Wind, Nogoodnik Parade, In addition to performing, Jon composes music.

Tim Reilly is an internationally renowned as a consummate percussionist/bones player. He has been featured on a number of folk recordings including Shipmates by Compass Rose. He was a member of the Blues Healers and is one of the Mystic Seaport Chantey men. Tim has performed with such luminaries such as Benoit Bourque, Skip Healy, the late Mike Shorrock, Mel Mercier, and performed an encore set with the Chieftains at the Providence Performing Arts Center.
