Artist Information
Biography
Radio Radio was born out of the need for a group of Milwaukee's finest on-the-scene musicians to play some of their favorite covers from days of their youth - New Wave and alternative hits from 1977-1984. No other band takes this true-to-life approach to the cover band. You will see and hear a band of top musicians playing songs no other band is covering, and in a way that makes you feel you are seeing and hearing the real thing. Artists covered range from The Cars, Missing Persons, Duran Duran, Elvis Costello, Psychedelic Furs, INXS, David Bowie, The Fixx, Flock Of Seagulls and more.
This unique and specific genre draws fans from an amazingly wide range, varying from twenty-somethings discovering new wave for the first time (thanks to video games, commercials and movies) to forty-somethings with old cassette collections filled with these bands.
Great danceable music with a great rock and roll edge. That's New Wave, and that's Radio Radio.
Collectively the members of Radio Radio have played nationally, internationally, and all over the local club and festival circuit, including Milwaukee's Summerfest, Bastille Days, Riversplash, and venues from Shank Hall to Turner Hall. Each member draws from a fan base connected to many acts they have worked with including the Lackloves, Spill, Nick Pipitone, The Mary Karlzen Band, Shattered, The Billy Seidel Band, TommyHeld, and many more.
Radio Radio is a no fuss, all action band that will bring an exciting and often neglected style of music to life. Expect a professional attitude, top musicianship and a white hot show.
