“Matthew Price is becoming somewhat of a folk icon in Oregon’s Willamette Valley through some very strong songwriting”, states Marc Albert of Salem’s KMUZ 88.5FM. His down-to-earth, honest, and often funny lyrics are reminiscent of John Prine and his acoustic style and soulful singing draw comparisons to Jason Mraz or Jack Johnson. He and his band have earned a strong following and have been named the Best Local Band by the Statesman Journal in Salem, Oregon.
In 2010, he independently released his debut album, "Stranded", and that first year, the album sold several thousand copies out of an old suitcase at live shows and online. It also received radio play in the Northwest on stations including KINK 101.9 FM, and KBOO 90.7 FM in Portland, (NPR) KLCC 89.7 FM in Eugene, and KMUZ 88.5 FM in Salem. The album gained positive reviews by both fans and critics.
In 2013, Matthew joined with vocalist and violinist, Christiana Zollner, and released a second CD titled, Gallon House. This project is built around witty and sweet duets and acoustic instruments. Their live shows are generally stripped-down affairs with Matt’s guitar, Christiana’s violin, and percussion by Eli Ritchie.
As a boy, Matthew listened as his dad, Dale Price, a camp director at Canyonview Camp, played guitar and sang around the campfire. In that place, the natural, musical, and spiritual worlds combined as one, and it's from there, that he draws his songwriting. Matthew has discovered a way to take listeners on a journey to discover the extraordinary in everyday life.

The duo played one of their first shows in the Portland area, having mostly played venues down in Salem and the mid-Willamette Valley, the band fit in perfectly with the Portland crowd at the show. The sweet voices of the two intermingled beautifully creating a docile yet strong set. The simple arrangement of Matthew on the acoustic guitar and the soft sound of Christiana on the violin was an enchanting combination. The duets between the two were the real highlight of the set as they sang tender love songs that showed just how good the two of their voices mixed together worked to create a beautiful sound. The band is celebrating the recent launch of their new website as well as the release of a new album.
I commonly play music sets between one and three hours in length and consist of original songs and our unique take on other popular songs. Here are some songs that we often play.
