Just Plain Darin™

Just Plain Darin is a singer-songwriter and guitar playing solo artist from Eastern Washington. He has played extensively in and around the Pacific Northwest within a variety of musical contexts. Having a formal education in Commercial Music and Jazz Studies, Darin has conducted seminars, has played and recorded with several jazz and fusion combos, has worked as a studio musician recording commercials for local businesses and has played to crowds of thousands at a time. Darin also fronted the regionally well known rock band, Kidd Robin throughout much of the 90’s. They enjoyed generous radio airplay, won regional “Battle Of The Bands” contests and toured much of the Pacific Northwest, headlining and opening for nationally known groups and artists.
Darin currently plays as an acoustic solo artist performing, and promoting his most recent, full-length solo projects, "Brand New Day" and “Back To The Basics”. The latter, an all acoustic project, has a very bluesy, modern, folk/rock, feel with strong jazz influences. The CDs have gained national distribution through “The Orchard Distribution” and have enjoyed regular-rotation airplay on local and regional radio, as well as college and blues stations across the nation and international airplay in both Russia and Argentina. The newer release, "Brand New Day" is along the same lines stylistically, though with a much bigger sound as it was recorded with Darin's electric band.

Darin’s ability to adapt full arrangements to a single guitar is inspiring. He uses no back up tracks or sequencers. Every thing you hear live is live. However, he uses a state of the art looping device that allows him to play rhythm and lead, melody and harmony parts all at once and incorporating the spontaneous nature of improvisation.

Darin has a warm and appealing stage presence, a gifted sense of humor, and a knack for meaningful interaction with his audience.
He entertains the masses, and connects with the individual.
