What began in the Spring of 2005, with three little third grade girls singing at an end of the school year talent show has now evolved into the phenomenal band that is known today as Starstruck.
The original members (Linda, Lizzy and Brit) formed the band in Fall of 2005 (4th grade) with the assistance of their elementary music teacher. None of them knew how to play any instruments at all, but had the desire and dream to try. They began learning their instruments off and on (during recess and after school) throughout 2005 and into early 2006.
By January of 2007 they decided they wanted to apply to play at Louiefest which is put on by the Fabulous Wailers. They were accepted in April of 2007, to play on the mainstage for 45 minutes, based on a 60 second video clip- (little did Louiefest organizers know, but that was the extent of the songs they knew).
So beginning in June of 2007 the girls began rehearsing for 30 hours a week until August. They played their first show August 2007 and had accomplished learning a 45 minute set in 8 weeks time. For the remainder of the year girls continued to practice and do charity events around Tacoma.
In May of 2008, the girls were excited to welcome drummer Maddy into the band and embarked on a busy music filled summer playing at such venues as Pike Place Market in Seattle, Club Impact, and Jazzbones. Throughout the summer of 2008, the girls received continuous media coverage based on the energy and talent they displayed in their shows. The excitement the girls created drew crowds to any stage they were on, and there was amazement that such a professional show was put on by 11 and 12 year old girls.
In November of 2008, Emily joined the group as the new guitarist when Brit relocated to another city.
Now aged 12 and 13, the girls have just completed their EP.
The girls tastes in music vary from 80's to popular music today.
Looking at the girls they appear just like your average "tween", approachable, fun and sweet, but watch them perform and listen to their music and you'll find they are so much more than average.

They play quite a few 80s covers which I particularly enjoy.
Starstruck typically plays 45 to 60 minute sets. They play songs from the 60's to present and their own originals. They have a 45 song list, of which one third are originals. Cover songs range from The Beatles, Billy Idol, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Miley Cyrus, Pink and Paramore.
