Biography

The Live Lights have built a strong and faithful following and have rattled audiences in the Houston and Texas region with their live performances and unique style. Playing shows with national and international acts including Peter Hook (New order/Joy Division), Datarock, Esser, Ruben Wu(Ladytron), Young the Giant and more, have helped The Live Lights reach out to a much broader fan base. Other achievements include performances @ Indieweek Fest 2010 in Canada, & Ghoulsfest 2010 with Macy Gray, We are Scientists, Bad Brains, and many more.

The band is influenced by artists from all genres including The Killers, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Beatles, Ours, New Order, and many more.

The band’s second CD will be released in the spring of 2011 and is a compilation of songs with a modish blend of electronics, angular guitar work, a la mode drumming, and lucid vocals. A refreshing sign of growth and depth in the song writing is apparent as The Live Lights continue to fine tune their sound and direction. The new CD includes three new tracks produced by Matt Novesky of Blue October.

Aggressive rocker "Lights Out" suggests a synthy Billy Corgan side project, "A Song for Strangers" some sprawling Killers-like dance-floorplay and "Sky Will Fall" a slowly ticking AFI-style ballad.   Seguido de Bagre , escuchamos a The Live Lights, banda de Houston Tx, fuertemente influenciada por un sonido muy brit rock de bandas como The Cure y Joy Division de quienes se consideran grandes admiradores.
  
  A pesar de ser una banda que por primera vez se presentó en nuestra ciudad, lograron una excelente aceptación por parte del público a quienes al final de su presentación repartieron demos con sus temas.
  
  A mi punto de vista fue una muy buena ocasión para darse a conocer entre la escena de rock en Monterrey, esperemos regresen pronto a la ciudad ya que nos han dejado con ganas de escuchar más de ellos.

  With its propensity for strobe lights and bubble machines, an electric violin used almost solely for...With its propensity for strobe lights and bubble machines, an electric violin used almost solely for feedback purposes, and songs that ooze with candy-colored, psychedelic charms, Portland’s The Pink Snowflakes often come off like The Flaming Lips on a budget, right down to vocalist Andrew Rossi’s dizzy, child-on-his-first-acid-trip yowl. The band’s debut full-length, Sun Chasing, is steeped in Echoplex drone and fractured folk songs that vacillate between dreamy and nightmarish, occasionally within the same measure. Locals Copper Pocket kick things off with rollicking classic rock derived from Britain’s R&B-mining mods and sweetened with crystalline harmonies, while Houston duo Female Demand wreaks Lightning Bolt-like havoc with just drums and jet-engine bass, and city-mates The Live Lights open with black-hued electro fervor.
