Biography

The natural sound created by its six members, all having their own musical nuances, is comfortable to the jazz audience while pushing the envelope towards a more experimental crowd. Where They Landed opts to do away with all vocals and let the harmonizing trumpet and saxophone ride on a sea of sound

  So you see the horns-- sax and trumpet, right up front-- and you think, "ah, a jazz band." And you'...So you see the horns-- sax and trumpet, right up
  front-- and you think, "ah, a jazz band." And you'd be a
  little right but mostly wrong through omission. Yeah,
  locals Where They Landed take influence from jazz. But
  that's like saying the space shuttle takes influence from
  the Wright brothers. Sure, they both kinda look the same
  and use some similar basic components, but one's
  heading straight to space at a thousand feet a second in
  a blaze of flames, fumes, and glory. Imagine the Mars
  Volta if they knew about dynamics and song structure,
  attended Berklee, and ditched that high-pitched guy.
  With notes like these, you don't need words.
  
  Never mind where they landed, you want to know
  where these boys are taking off. Oh, wait. It's Northside
  Tavern. All aboard.
