Biography

Music has always been a family affair for Allie Joelle. Growing up in a house filled with over 10 guitars and a guitarist father, it was inevitable that Allie would eventually pick up a guitar. (However, upon being asked what type of guitar she wanted to play, a four-year-old Allie insisted that she wanted to play "air" guitar and sing "just like Belle").

Fast forward a few years to the House of Blues Chicago. Captivated by a performance by Matt Nathanson, Allie made the decision to pick up a guitar and write.

Now, with the recording of a new EP under her belt, Allie is ready to take to the stage and share her passion with others. Most recently, she opened the Freesound Music Festival in Grinnell, IA, opened for Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu at a stop on his solo tour, and performed at the Cubby Bear in Chicago, IL.

  Also known as “Allie Joelle” she has already released a CD entitled “Better Left Unsaid,” released i...Also known as “Allie Joelle” she has already released a CD entitled “Better Left Unsaid,” released in August 2009 through CDBaby. It features four songs detailing the beginning and ending of a relationship. She states how, ” [she] was lucky enough to be backed by a full band of incredible musicians on the album and to work with an incredible producer, Johnny Rutledge]”.   Although Allie is now a busy first year graduate student in the CTSA program at Mayo Clinic she is still performing and keeping her music talents alive. She has a performance this Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Rochester Minnesota at Whistle Binkies North at 9pm.
