Biography
Roy-Al is a new age hip hop artist that has the ability to bring a swagger of intelligence and individuality to the stage. Breaking onto the scene at college poetry slams and talent shows his music has made it from college dormitories to the battlefields of Iraq. The product of a nomadic childhood, Roy-Al has no place in particular he calls home, but currently resides in Wilmington, DE.
Always grinding in his home studio, Roy-Al is constantly working on his style and searching his spirit for new music. Roy-Al's previous album, "My Story" was never released to the public due to the artist's sudden enlistment into the United States Navy two month's prior to his college graduation. Roy-Al was trained as a nuclear reactor operator and excelled in his career field until he experienced life threatening medical issues that would later result in his forced seperation from service, and a renewed spiritual vision that revolved around God's strength in man's weakness. Now a 26 year-old husband and father of one, Roy-Al devotes most of his time to family, spiritual growth, wisdom and his music. He has been quoted saying, "Intelligence does not define wisdom, the actions of a man in private places, reflect his integrity."
Looking to make an impact on the world's youth, Roy-Al hopes that his music and his persona will show kids another side of hip-hop. Completing two bachelors degrees and pursuing a master in Divinity,and Education he wants America to embrace a genre of rap music that encourages more people to reach for the stars, and maintain a strong foundation of faith while doing it.
Roy-Al has never been interested in popularity, or fame, just a microphone and a stage. Actively perfecting his music for over six years he feels that today's current social climate demands a unique artist with his qualities.
