THE MELILLO BROTHERS...are Singer-Songwriters and Recording Artists, performing Acoustic, Pop & Soft Rock music.

You may have enjoyed seeing young Anthony around Yorktown and Ossining playing his guitar for friends and fans at open mics and battle of the bands or at the pavilion in town. You may have seen him and his older brother, Nick, acting and dancing in shows at Yorktown Stage, the Westchester Broadway Theatre, Tarrytown Music Hall or singing with The Westchester Dreamcoats at Giant Stadium. Both were active in Yorktown High’s Drama Club, Choir and Dance Company, where they wowed audiences with stellar performances. Anthony in his senior year was nominated for the popular high school equivalent of the “Tony’s,” the Helen Hayes/Metro Awards, for Best Supporting Actor and Outstanding Duet as “Bobby Randall” in “Good News.” He won for "Outstanding Duet" at The Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill on June 8, 2009. And now, The Melillo Brothers are making news in the local and national music scene, as well!

Anthony is an 18-year-old acoustic artist, singer/songwriter and composer. He is often compared to an early John Mayer, Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional and recently, to Jason Mraz. Some of his other influences include Ray Charles, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, Jack Johnson, Kenny Vasoli and Mike Rowe.

His passion for words come in beautifully vocalized love parables that take you on a musical journey with heartfelt rhythm and grace. Mixing it up with some fun, jazzy and upbeat songs, he continues to take you on a lyrical ride. Each of his transitions is quite unique and keep you listening for the next change. Both to the trained and untrained ear, he is a listening delight and a joy to the heart.

Although new to the music scene, this charismatic teenager should rise fast as a family favorite, developing fans of multiple age ranges and genres of music. Now, teaming up with his older brothers, they are making strides and gaining much attention. He was originally influenced by his older brother, Joe (23), who is also a singer/songwriter, to begin playing guitar in the first place. "Joe was 14 when he picked up a guitar and started playing and composing. My other brother Nick was 12 and jumped on a drum set my parents gave him one Christmas, so I just wanted to be part of the band." says Anthony, "I was only 9 and to keep me quiet, the parentals bought me a bass and the rest is history!"

His brother Joe is a recent graduate of Pace University Honor's College, and was managing a restaurant before giving up his career to help his brothers go for the big prize. He wows audiences with his soulful vocals and jazzy style originals. Nick is a new graduate of SUNY New Paltz with his BA in Theatre Arts, which he acquired in only 3 years. He energizes this team of brothers with precision percussion and switches seemlessly from drums to keyboards and back again. Whether playing an instrument or not, he adds another dimension to their 3-part harmony. They are both talented and gifted in their own right and are committed to supporting their younger brother's dream. Together, there's a "magic" that happens when they hit the stage, an energy and honesty rarely seen, and with beautiful harmonies that leave an audience awestruck and wanting more. It's just plain good music that keeps all ages singing & dancing along. Their interaction with audiences is professional and mature, not typical of such young talents. More recently, not only Joe but also Nick has chosen to forego his career to help his younger brother fulfill his dream. During this transition, they are fast becoming known up and down the east coast as "The Melillo Brothers."

As a recent featured musician on the local cable television show "Alive with Clive - Turning Your Passion Into Profit," Anthony has made quite a stir with his appearance along with his brothers, especially with one of his songs, "That's My Son," which can be viewed on YouTube or heard above with full orchestration. Clive Swersky, host of the show taped weekly live out of White Plains Cablevision, has recently inaugurated the Alive with Clive Top 20 Music Chart featuring local musicians who are competing for the top slot on a compilation cd designed to raise over a million dollars for AIDS victims in South Africa.

The Melillo Brothers (TMB) have enjoyed a formidable lead for over a year on the Chart through the voting of fans at www.alivewithclive.tv and is hoping to have one of their songs make it to the Top 5 on the album. In a recent press release Clive says, "I believe every son wants his parents to hear ‘That's My Son,’ and I also believe it is destined to be a # 1 hit all over the world. Now, the question remains: Was Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen this good at seventeen?”

After Anthony self-produced his debut album "Just Gettin' Started" and released it on August 24, 2008, he submitted one of the songs featured on the album “Kiss Me Sweetly” to Z100 online channel and is now on Z100’s NEW! Discover web radio and is moving up the charts every day. It is currently in the top 129 out of over 6,000 new indie artists. It has also taken an Honorable Mention in VH-1’s Song of the Year Contest in September 2008. And in 2009, has also won the AWC Valentine’s Love Song for 2009. It was also a Semi-Finalist in the 2009 UK Songwriting Contest, along with "That's My Son" and receiving a Finalist award for "Never Slow Down."


“Just Gettin’ Started” has been received very well throughout NY, NJ, CT and PA, being brought to the public at the Westchester County CD Release Party and at live shows, concerts & charity events. It has recently enjoyed being highlighted on Hudson Valley’s #1 Music Station, WHUD, 100.7FM with “Fairytale” being played on “Artist’sSpotlight with Catherine Michaels.” Says Anthony, “Hearing one of your songs being played on the radio, has been an amazing and humbling experience for me as an artist and, hopefully, it is a sign of great things to come!” It also enjoyed play on Putnam’s WTBQ 99.1FM “Spotlight” on “Teen Talk Radio” along with a half-hour interview with all of the Melillo brothers with Teen Talk hostesses, Natalie & Shawna.

TMB has recently worked with Producer, Tony Woodroffe of Noyz Boyz Entertainment, revamping a couple of tracks on the debut album and completed 4 new tracks that is now a new EP called "Something In Between." It was recently released at Webster Hall at the 2010 Emergenza Music Festival National Finals, where Nick was named "Best Drummer" of the event and The Melillo Brothers WON the National Title. One new single from "Something In Between" is “Attitunes” which mixes acoustic pop with rap, featuring rap sensation, Theory, who recently won BET’s Most Inspirational Music Video in 2008 for his music video “Change.” The other new single, “Blanket,” boasts an acoustic/reggae feel and is sure to be a 2010 summer hit! You will find "Just Gettin' Started" as the first track on the EP is upbeat and already a rockin' request by TMB fans.

Finally, another new track is a beautiful tribute to fellow classmate and local musician, Justin Veatch, who recently passed at the age of 17, appropriately called “Justin’s Song.” This new single which can be heard on TMB’s My Space, is also now featured as a Bonus Track on a compilation cd called "Permagrin" that the Veatch family has put together with some national name bands. "Permagrin" was released in 2009 and is being sold to raise funds for The Justin Veatch Memorial Fund, which will provide scholarships to high school students planning to pursue music education.

Other collaborators on the new EP project were: Mark Mancini, Keyboards; Steve Geller, Bass; Chris Palmerini, Slide Guitar; Paul Logus, Mixing & Mastering. Core Consultant, Ken Ferracho (formerly with ASCAP) and Producer Tom Spears (9-Circles) are currently advising on their latest project of another EP with the newest songs getting ready for showcase. The new singles are already being projected as their break through music that will take them to Billboard Charts.

TMB has recently shared bills with The Bacon Brothers, Rusted Root, Carney and Jakob Dylan, to name just a few. They have previously shared bills with local greats, as well, Petey Hop, Marc Von Em and Freddy Gillen, Jr. They also performed with some of today’s Christian artists, such as Day One, Zero-to-Sixty and pop artists such as Theory, School Boy Humor, Thee Armada, Phone Calls from Home, Thrash Unreal, Select Start and The Early November.

TMB supports and has performed benefit concerts for many local and national charitable organizations, such as The Harrison Apar Field of Dreams Foundation, Relay for Life, The Alliance for Safe Kids, Cherish Our Children International, VO1CE/Rock for Humanity, The Harlem Dowling Foundation and Easter Seals, to name just a few.

Says Anthony, "My hope is to influence my peers through positive messages in my music, by telling stories using poignant lyrics and compelling melodies. My ultimate goal is to become a family favorite, bringing the generations together in a spirit of celebration of what we have in common. Maybe even help bridge the generation gap by reminding families that love, encouragement and respect from home is all we need to make it in the world."

Finally, Anthony was recently accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and has deferred those plans to pursue his fast-growing career. As President of their newly formed corporation, Melillo Music, Inc. and with his brothers also at the helm, they have created new business concepts such as the "Home Sweet Home Acoustic Tour" that is currently performing from Piano's Lounge in NYC to the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville with 3 other up-and-coming artists. This inspiring tour takes all the artists through their hometowns offering full and captive audiences every night. It encompasses 7 states, 16 cities and 17 prestigious venues all booked by the artists themselves.

  Does the name The Melillo Brothers ring a musical bell in your ears lately? If so, you’re not the on...Does the name The Melillo Brothers ring a musical bell in your ears lately? If so, you’re not the only one. You have seen them all over the local NY music scene slowly making a name for themselves around Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties, the Tri-state area and beyond. And beyond is where they are definitely going, as the US Winners of the 2010 Emergenza International Music Festival. Emergenza hosts this global battle of unsigned bands competition over a nine month period in 18 countries. This year’s International Finals will culminate this August in Germany for an exciting 3-day Music Festival that could very well be compared to our very own Woodstock of yesteryear.

  Hailing from The Hudson Valley, this delightful trio of family-friendly singer/songwriters are making a name for themselves with some good old-fashioned talent and sweat equity. Their story began just two short years ago with Anthony Melillo beginning as an acoustic solo artist but within only a few short months was making enough of an impact that his brothers came on board. They have decided, only one year ago, to forego careers in order to chase their passion and dream. Anthony, the youngest of the three, has deferred his acceptance to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, while his brothers Nick and Joe have put their theatre and business careers on hold. Now known as The Melillo Brothers, it looks as though they have made a good decision. Recently, they broke through one of the most difficult places to break into, NYC. How did they do it? They will tell you themselves that they are doing it by taking their passion and fashioning it into a smart business plan. Combine that with a strong work ethic; a vision for the impossible and finish it with uncompromising faith; and you got yourself a winning combination.
  
  Anthony, at 17 began making some serious strides and was gaining respect amongst audiences and peers for his deep lyrics, heartfelt melodies and sweet, stylized vocals. He released his self-produced debut album “Just Gettin’ Started” in August of 2008 in an effort to have a demo available for college applications and auditions. It won a few accolades in US and international songwriting contests, as well as getting him Artist Spotlights on local TV and radio stations. It wasn’t long before older brothers Nick (19) and Joe (21) came home from college wanting to help their younger brother go for his dream. Both brothers went to work lending their beautiful voices, songwriting skills and instruments to the mix. And as they say, the rest is history… in the making.
  
  A little over a year ago, their mom and manager, Joanne Melillo, submitted the boys into the 2010 Emergenza International Music Festival battle of the band competition in Manhattan. www.emergenza.net They did not hear from the organization for several months. Then, last October they were contacted and chosen to perform in the First Round of the competition to be held at New York’s famed nightclub, Fontana’s. Learning the competition is largely based on audience voting and support, the enterprising family went about promoting the event as a means to break into the NYC music market. Excited with their new opportunity, they went about gathering family, friends and fans to spread the word about their unique chance to play at famous venues. It worked. Although it is difficult to get some of The Melillo Brothers’ fan base into NYC venues because of the 21+ age requirements of many places, they still managed to make the top 3 of the night. They were on their way.
  
  However, also making it through the First Round were many other, more established local and national bands. They were sure these other bands could topple them from any chance of making the Semi-Final Round unless they had a game plan. Before they could ever imagine getting to the Finals at the infamous Webster Hall, the brothers knew they had to step up their game. They focused on developing themselves into a marketable brand; honing in on each of their crafts; and developing stronger songs with even more compelling melodies and lyrics that would gain not only audience support but also the judges’ attention.
  
  Their first strategy was to play out and get as much local exposure as possible. In turn, they found their fan base growing weekly over the next several months. This resulted in their playing more than 250 shows over the last two years. That’s amazing when you realize they don’t have a professional booking agent, yet. Following them is like watching veterans re-write the book on how to make it happen in the music industry today. Because of the extensive live shows, they have secured over 1000 fans on their email list, as well as selling more than the 1000 original units of "Just Gettin' Started" because of ongoing internet sales on iTunes and CD Baby. This acoustic, self-produced album has become so popular that it's going into reprint.
  
  They called every ‘impossible’ venue, sending their music and EPK out hoping to get hired; and they did. They played Open Mics anywhere they could find them and within no time, they were on the map. Because of the warm reception they received everywhere they went; their wide-range of musical style and amazing harmonies; their ability to engage an audience of all ages and, of course, their obvious growing fan base, they ultimately found themselves performing at many coveted music hotspots such as The Towne Crier in Putnam, The Bayou in Mt. Vernon, Pete’s Saloon in Elmsford, and even the infamous Bitter End in NYC. Just recently they were also secured to perform this Summer at the prestigious Pleasantville Music Festival and Six-Flags/The Great Escape in Lake George. www.pleasantvillemusicfestival.com Believing in the power of giving, they've appeared in dozens of charity events from several Relays For Life, The Harlem Dowling Foundation, Alliance for Safe Kids, New York City Relief, The Justin Veatch Memorial Foundation and the Easter Seals Walk With Me–NYC event, two years in a row. They also performed at the Second Avenue Street Festival a few weeks ago, boasting a few hundred thousand visitors throughout the day. This also continues to create tremendous exposure and respect.
  
  Ever industrious, these fellas have also gone out securing private and company sponsors to help with the increasing costs of upgrading their music and image. They even launched a fund-raising campaign to prepare for their very own do-it-yourself tour that may very well become the format for independent bands trying to get out on the road. This unique concept born only 3 months ago after appearing at the 2010 SS Cape May Festival, the "Home Sweet Home Acoustic Tour" has them and 3 other up-and-coming artists booked in 7 states, 16 cities and in 17 prestigious venues from Piano's Lounge in NYC to the Hard Rock Café in Nashville and back from July 8-27th.
  
  You would think with all the plates spinning, something would break. Well, it did… in March, they broke out of the Semi-Finals of this massive battle of the bands at the famed Crash Mansion taking 2nd place to their new found friends from Long Island, Midnight Mob. Using their idea to put up a promotional video on YouTube that they filmed in their basement, they got the support they needed. The funny and clever video invited the help of family, friends and fans by giving them a chance to be in a music video shoot at Crash Mansion. Fans coming to the show could be part of the video and even secure ways to get free tickets for themselves and their friends. It worked…taking 2nd place, they moved on to compete in the Finals at Webster Hall. www.youtube.com/watch?v=40plfkTyDdk In addition to everything they've been doing to increase their visibility offline, they also focused on further developing their online support. They updated their myspace to depict the change from Anthony as solo artist to The Melillo Brothers and added new music. They created a Youtube Channel to draw more people to their site and to their shows. They secured a couple of local young photographers and filmographers to help them with photo and video shoots. Then, they brought on board Producer Tony Woodroffe of Noyz Boyz Entertainment and Brianne Farquar of Elizabeth Maxwell Media who designed their webspace, social networks for their new EP “Something In Between,” completing the package right on time to release it at Webster Hall. Genius.
  
  When learning about their strategies, it is easy to be stunned by these young men’s business acumen. They are exactly what this industry is looking for these days and it is no surprise that they are on their way to Germany. They're working an average of 10-14 hours a day creating, booking and promoting, so much so that they began their own company, Melillo Music, Inc. which is completely owned and operated by the three young men.
  
  But, let's cut to day of Finals...last Sunday, June 27th. To give you a peek as to the kind of guys they are, when asked to cut their set from 25 minutes to 18 because of venue time constraints, they prepared a set that stayed under the request at 16 minutes out of respect for their fellow bands and Emergenza organizers. Other bands were not as cooperative. Even more impressive is that when they showed up for sound check and got a look at some of the bands they were against, they went straight to a local rehearsal studio to tighten up their set. Then later, during their own live set, they gave kudos to their fellow competitors. Furthermore, they not only cheered but also VOTED for their friends, Midnight Mob. This type of professionalism and genuine respect for their peers is something we need more of these days, in every industry. Whether or not you like their John Mayer-esque or Dashboard Confessional style, all-in-all these kids are hard not to like. And it’s no wonder they caught the judges’ attention.
  
  Watching their set at Webster Hall gave a clue as to exactly where these boys are headed and made them true contenders for the title of the night. They grabbed the stage with the command of seasoned entertainers, wowed not only their fans, who came out in droves, but the entire ballroom with their electric energy, soulful melodies and stunning harmonies. Then to add to the excitement, Nick Melillo was named “Best Drummer” for the event right before Sabrina Barino, the Executive VP of Emergenza, made the announcement of the Third, Second and First Place Winners. It was obvious their surprise when Midnite Mob and Prime Prophecy tied for Third and the spunky family of young talent also from Westchester, Graveshift, was named Second Place Winners.
  
  The crowd went wild as she pronounced The Melillo Brothers as the 2010 Emergenza International Music Festival National Winners who will be representing the United States in Germany. It was a sight to behold and we knew this was history in the making. This is a team of brothers who genuinely like each other, who show tremendous respect for themselves and their veteran band mates, guitarist Chris Palmerini and bassist Steve Geller, who sometimes accompany them on larger shows like this. And, to end the night, they displayed special honor to their parents when they invited them on stage to take their winners bow with them.
  
  They may be new, they may be young, but they are sure to become an industry standard that many unsigned bands will look to emulate and follow. Congratulations to The Melillo Brothers. What’s next? Next, they are heading on the road for their first east coast tour then on to the beautiful Black Forest Region of Germany for the Tubertal Festival and the Emergenza International Finals competing for the World Title along with 17 other European contenders.

  May 29, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The family of Justin Veatch (www.thejustinveatchfund.org), who tragically died in his sleep as a result of an accidental drug overdose (www.thejustinveatchfund.org) at age 17 in September 2008, will be awarding its first music scholarship in their son's name, at Senior Awards Night at Yorktown High School, Wednesday, June 3, 2009. The music scholarship is part of The Justin Veatch Fund's mission to foster support for young emerging artists and further the musical talents of students.
  
  Justin was a singer/songwriter/musician known for his exceptional musical gifts which continue to attract fans on the internet and through downloads on iTunes. His family is releasing Justin's first CD later this summer at the request of thousands of fans from across the globe who contacted his parents and friends after hearing his music on MySpace, where they maintain Justin's music page.
  
  Justin's download singles ''ESRT Page 14'' and ''Whispering Spirits'' have sold on iTunes throughout the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, and Japan. Along with sales of songs, more significantly, the community has supported the Fund. According to Jeffrey Veatch, Justin's father, "The Yorktown High School Student Senate donated money, and several of Justin's friends who formed the band 'City of Molotov' gave us a generous donation. Others are buying Fund tee shirts and writing checks. We are honored by the extraordinary thoughtfulness of Justin's peers, and overwhelmed by the love and respect that Justin had during his short life." Mr. Veatch explains, "This first 2009 scholarship is $1,000 and a very significant step for us. We aim to increase that amount substantially in the next year and provide money that will help fill some of the gaps created by cuts in budgets for the arts. The Fund's board of directors determined that candidates for the first scholarship would be chosen among members of Justin's graduating class at Yorktown. Next year we hope to expand on the county or state level." Sales of the CD ''Permagrin: The Music of Justin Veatch'' (An Ivoryton Piano Factory Production, available this summer at www.thejustinveatchfund.org] and through major outlets) will raise additional funds for future music scholarships (www.thejustinveatchfund.org). ''Permagrin'' -- a title chosen by Justin when he dreamed of his first CD -- will include six of his originally recorded songs.

Also included is ''Justin's Song,'' a tribute written and recorded by singer/songwriter Anthony Melillo, one of Justin's classmates. "It's a collaboration of the well-established alongside young, emerging talents -- an eclectic combination that represents what Justin was truly about," his dad said.

  About Justin (January 5, 1991 to September 8, 2008): Justin Veatch demonstrated his talent for music at an early age, taking formal piano lessons at five. The grand piano became his anchor and led him to other instruments like the trumpet, guitar, synthesizer, drums and other percussion instruments like the glockenspiel. As Justin's music became more complex he began to work in a professional studio environment at age 12 and quickly demonstrated his ability to transform a concept of a song into a finished work. Later, in his basement studio he began combining analog and virtual sounds into songs he performed entirely by himself. The name of his project band, The Ivoryton Piano Factory (now the name of the family publishing company), was inspired by road trips north from New York City through Ivoryton, CT where he frequently passed an old piano factory that had long since been abandoned.
