Biography
THE LOST YEARS are an LA based punk duo consisting of Joey Revenge and Nigel Hazard. The two first collaborated together on a folk based project called The Wishing Well. Months following the end of their initial project, they joined forces yet again to pursue a project that would combine punk overtones, folk lyricism and confront various demons from their past.
THE LOST YEARS were born in July 2008 in a tiny garage in Riverside, California. The garage would be the inception place of many of their songs that reflect on true life events with themes such as redemption, revenge, perseverance and many others.
After months of fine tuning their material, the duo pulled together a collective network of artists, in which they utilize different musicians at each show to give their songs a unique life each time they are performed. The kinetic energy and deep emotional catharsis grabbed audiences attention from very early on.
Punk legend Alice Bag (The Bags/Castration Squad) has hailed Joey Revenge as "the Prince of Punk" and Revenge has looked to her as an important mentor. Joey Blush of the New York based band Blush Response states "[The Lost Years] are like a more coked out and angry version of the Smiths".
Former Zine-ster and Viewpoints Editor, Sonja Eide expresses it best when she stated "[The Lost Years] form a truly unique, dark and moving sound unlike anything else heard in the last 10 years".
